Welcome, traveler. My name is Winkari, and I’m historically what you would call an off-and-on WoW player. Since participating in the original 2004 Beta, I’ve had periods of months and years that I’ve taken a break from this game. But now, as a forty-something guy whose video game hobby always finds itself coming back to World of Warcraft, it is currently the only game I play.
Azeroth provides an escape from my everyday life. I’m happily married and have two wonderful daughters, but still savor the moments I get to log in and be transported to another place. A magical place. A place that lets me be and do what I can’t in the real world. I love questing through zones in an expansion, getting lost in the story that ultimately comes to a climax in its dungeons, raids, and cinematics. I love being met with little “surprises” throughout questing and adventuring, always thinking to myself, ”Am I the only one that feels this way?”
The Journey is my way of sharing these moments with others who play the game the same way — casually, curiously, and with an appreciation for the details. If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
