7. Divination or Beyond?
Is Astrology as a practice just divination, or could it be more than that? Aswin begins our conversation with a look into Omenology and a story that speaks to how divination can speak to us in any given moment. And Joli brings in how we balance intuition with pattern recognition, symbolic understanding with the idea of cause-and-effect. What's your take on this topic? Join our conversation and please share in the comments or by tagging us in social media! And here's the link to the story of the rain-maker that Joli was trying to relay: https://appliedjung.com/rainmaker-dream-of-drought/ And if you're interested in studying with Aswin, please check out the courses he's offering, including his one-year Jyotish course (the price of which will go up in 2026) by checking out: https://www.theabverdict.com/courses Please subscribe and leave us a rating/review if you enjoy what we share as this will support our future endeavours with this podcast.

Is the client supposed to tell us what they need or are astrologer's supposed to divine this? Is there always a pressing need on the client's side? How long should sessions be? 2. Aswin Subramanyan Interviews Joli Knott
Welcome to "The Joli-Aswin Show"! And thank you for joining us on this second episode where Aswin interviews Joli in order for listeners to get to know her as a person, as well as an astrologer, better.  We hope you enjoy the show and would love to hear any feedback you have to share! ~Joli & Aswin Show notes: Smell is the only one of our 5 senses that is not routed through the thalamus to get to the cortex. Instead, aromas and odours travel directly to the olfactory nerve, thus bypassing the thalamus altogether. The information from smell is thus relayed to the limbic system and is why certain smells can trigger detailed memories and strong emotions.   In this episode, Joli mistakenly says "hypothalamus" instead of "thalamus". The latter retrieves sensory information for the cortex, while the former is responsible for homeostasis in the body and for stimulating hormone production. Please accept her regret for the error!
