Maryam Fakhar has dedicated 23 years to the cause of Iran's freedom and being the voice of its oppressed people, particularly women. She is a leading human rights advocate with over two decades of experience in international policy, women's empowerment, advocating for a democratic Iran, and Congressional outreach. A member of the Women's Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and a senior analyst for Iran Human Rights Monitor, which researches and documents human rights abuses and regularly compiles report on the situation of political prisoners, with a special focus on women political prisoners, she is uniquely positioned to shed light on the Iranian regime's systematic human rights violations. Her advocacy is deeply personal. Maryam's family has endured the brunt of both the Shah's tyranny and the subsequent clerical regime.
This harrowing legacy fuels Maryam's mission for justice and liberation. She offers a powerful and deeply informed voice for any media outlet seeking an authentic perspective on Iran's human rights crisis and the path toward a free society.
