Toxic Parenting refers to parents who CONSISTENTLY behave in ways, that cause guilt, fear, confusion, emotional insecurity, and obligation in their children. Their actions aren’t isolated events, but patterns that continue to shape their child's life.
Even if the parent wasn’t physically or verbally abusive, there can be emotional and ENERGETIC abuse…
Here are Five SIGNS you may have experienced as a child…
They were overly critical
They put their needs above yours, EVEN if they were for good reason, such as work, house chores, etc
They were EMOTIONALLY unreliable or unstable or TOOK UP MORE EMOTIONAL SPACE that what you were allowed.
They blamed you for mistakes…
They were more concerned about what others thought of them/you than what you needed
