Multi-generational family businesses were the focus of this week's The HOME Show!

Kenzie Walker Johnson, principal broker of John Stewart Walker Realtors, joined us to talk about her fourth-generation family business and the current real estate market. She shared that the market remains strong and stable and highlighted the biggest trends buyers are looking for, including home offices and enhanced outdoor living spaces like patios and pools. Kenzie also explained a recent, significant change in the law for septic inspections and shared her top tips for sellers on how to make their homes stand out

Karl Overstreet, manager at Overstreet Ace Hardware, also stopped by to share memories of growing up in his family's business and how their stores differ from big-box competitors. He discussed popular services like equipment rental , free grill assembly, and local delivery. Carl echoed the outdoor living trend, noting the popularity of Solo Stoves and Weber grills, and gave great advice for garage organization, including wall-mounted tool storage and the Milwaukee Packout system. He also let us know the Hallmark Christmas ornaments are in stock at the Forest location!
