So things are going pretty well for the Goths, eh? That shiny new kingdom of Ermanaric is pretty nice. Think again, what goes up must come down. In this episode, I dive into the impact of the Hunnic invasion on the Goths(In German Hunnensturm). This monumental event will see the beginning of the migration period of the Goths, which is what will bring them into conflict with, of course, the Roman Empire(again, again. again). Thanks for listening again! Merry Christmas my friends and enjoy the rest of the year! Sit back, drink some hot cocoa, and put on the History of the Goths.

This episode charts the history of the Goths between the years 332 AD and 370 AD. We'll meet some monumental figures with different agendas who will attempt to guide the Goths down separate paths. In this period of time, we'll see how peaceful relations between the Roman Empire and a Germanic people can affect the society of the latter. Is the future of the Goths pagan? Christian? With or against Rome? These are the questions posed to our main characters.
This episode starts normally, with the Goths in fierce combat with the Romans, but then we start to move along the Gothic narrative and see their inter-tribal development circa the year 300 AD. This includes the division of the Goths and the early years of the fourth century which will find the Goths in a pretty good position to make money and weather any storms... for now.

This episode tracks the Goths following their early escapades in the early 250s AD. Beginning around this time, the Goths will make great use of one of the greatest forms of transportation ever known to man, the boat! With the sea no longer a barrier, the Goths found great new sources of wealth that were ripe for the plundering.
Apologies about the tardiness of this episode. I am a college student and studies do unfortunately take precedent over my hobby.

The chase of wealth and glory was always a great passion of the Goths. Today, I'll be talking about their invasion of the Roman Empire in 250 up to and including the Battle of Abritus and the subsequent Gothic invasion. These events make up what historians call the First Gothic War in which King Cniva will prove his worth and the Goths finally enter the spotlight.

We pick up our story at the beginning of the third century. A storm brews within the Roman Empire and offers the Goths a great opportunity to pounce upon the weakened lands of the increasingly unstable Empire. Great riches are sought and great battles fought, and the Goths will finally begin asserting themselves in the bigger picture. This episode ends around the year 249 and in the end, we see the rise of a new champion of the Goths.

Today, I talk about the physical place of origin of the Goths. After that, I actually start the Goths' tale and carry it to 200 AD, discussing every event(real and legendary) that our Gothic friends found themselves in in the meantime. I re-recorded the audio for this episode as I was not satisfied with the audio of its previous upload, this means the next episode will be a few days late, but I think it was worth it.
