Emily & Bianca: Explant Success: How I Overcame Health Issues and Found Clarity After Breast Implant Removal
Debbie Mac and Abbie Eastwood are joined by two incredible guests, Bianca and Emily, as they dive into the fascinating topic of breast implant removal and its impact on overall health and well-being. Bianca shares her personal journey of having her breast implants removed by renowned surgeon Guy Stern. The surgeon discusses the possibility that autoimmune conditions such as psoriasis and arthritis may persist even after the removal. However, he also reveals that 80% of women reported improvement in other symptoms, which instilled confidence in Bianca about her chances of getting better. Despite still experiencing psoriasis and joint pain, Bianca noticed that the pain after the removal was significantly less severe than when the implants were initially put in. Her 13th operation, known as an explant, was a success. Amazingly, she woke up from the surgery feeling mentally clear and happy, a stark contrast to her previous experiences with anesthesia. Bianca shares a surprising observation after her explant surgery - her body odour completely disappeared, despite not wearing any deodorant due to surgery restrictions. This was a significant relief for her as she had been struggling with body odour for months, if not over a year, prior to the explant. She now chooses to use a natural deodorant to avoid heavy metals like aluminium, which she believes may have contributed to her previous body odour issues. During the podcast, the conversation also touches upon concerns about calcification in the capsules surrounding the implants and the potential risk of breast implant-associated cancer. Initially, Bianca's surgeon assured her there was no cancer, but later she obtained a report revealing the presence of calcification and silicon bleed. This revelation sparked her belief that calcification and gene mutation could be the root cause of her health issues. Additionally, Emily shares her own experiences with breast implants and the challenges she faced due to the impact on her health. She relates her journey to a conversation with her mother at the age of 13, where the idea of getting breast implants was first introduced. After a surgery to remove a large ovarian cyst, Emily went ahead with the implants, initially feeling confident and feminine. However, she soon developed gutate psoriasis, and migraines and shooting breast pain followed, leaving her bedridden for days. Deepening their understanding of the potential correlation between toxic load and autoimmune issues, both Bianca and Emily explore how factors such as tattoos and alcohol consumption can contribute to tipping points in health. They discuss their inclination towards recognizing the importance of detoxification in their healing journey and how some individuals have a higher tolerance for toxins. Furthermore, our guests express curiosity and concern about the substances that may leach out of breast implants, with Emily noting the yellowish appearance of one of her implants. This highlights the limited research in this field and raises important questions about the potential impact on overall health. Towards the end of the episode, Debbie and Abbie delve into the post-implant removal experiences of both guests. Bianca shares her relief and improved walking ability, feeling like a normal person again. She also notes the significant change in her eyes, which are now clear and no longer grey. Emily, on the other hand, discusses her recent struggles with pain, brain fog, and digestive issues, prompting her decision to seek further testing with a naturopath. As the episode concludes, our guests leave us with powerful insights into the impact of breast implant removal on their journey towards better health. Georgia's Story: The Need for Education on Breast Implants
In today's episode, we have a special guest, Georgia, who will share her personal journey and insights on the importance of prioritizing health and well-being. Georgia begins by discussing the psychological strain that can come with body changes and encourages listeners to be self-aware, recognizing that appearance is just a small part of who we are. She emphasizes the need for support from others during this process and highlights that confidence and self-worth come from within. As the conversation progresses, Georgia opens up about her experience with breast implants. She shares her initial fascination with the idea, fueled by societal glamorization and sexualization. However, she soon realizes that the information provided about the implications of the procedure is lacking. She reflects on the disappointment she felt when the implants did not fulfill her expectations and only provided temporary satisfaction. Georgia raises important points about age and maturity in relation to self-worth and questioning societal beauty standards. She highlights the need for education on these matters, which is often lacking in schools. She also discusses the potentially misleading nature of breast implant consultations, where salesmen may downplay the downsides of the procedure unless legally required to disclose. Throughout the episode, Georgia shares her own symptoms and struggles with breast implants, such as hair loss, brain fog, and blurry vision. She candidly describes the emotional turmoil and identity crisis she experienced after undergoing surgery and how it affected her role as a health and well-being coach. We also hear about Georgia's journey to find support and understanding, including reaching out to medical professionals in Liverpool and eventually finding Dr. Rankin in Portugal. The Battle with Breast Cancer: Advocating for Better Medical Care and Awareness
In this episode, we have a special guest named Maria who shares her personal journey with breast cancer and breast implants. Maria reveals that she had breast cancer and underwent a mastectomy to remove a tumor. However, more tumors were found later on, leading to the decision to remove both breasts and implants. She discusses the physical limitations she experiences due to fibromyalgia and breast implant illness. Maria expresses her frustration with the lack of understanding from friends and clients about the fatigue and restrictions caused by these conditions. She suggests that the breast team should listen to our podcast to gain more knowledge about the experiences of mastectomy patients and those with breast implants. She also expresses fear and concern regarding the use of silicone breast implants without proper disclosure of information. Maria touches upon the topic of warning labels on cigarette packets from a previous podcast episode. Furthermore, Maria shares her own experience with chronic kidney infection after getting breast implants. She believes that the combination of the implants, her body rejecting them, and the antibiotics caused problems. She also discusses the pain and discomfort caused by the implants. Maria reveals a story about noticing a bulge in her breasts and suspecting a leakage, although her surgeon denied it. She ultimately decided to have the implants changed, but was disappointed when the surgeon failed to remove the entire capsule as promised. She expresses her desire for honesty from medical professionals and suggests that going private for a proper removal of the capsules may have been a better option. Maria believes that her outspokenness potentially saved her life by catching an issue that the radiographer missed during a scan. The topic of breast implant illness and fibromyalgia is explored, with Maria questioning if there is a connection and if breast implant illness really exists. She also raises concerns about potential complications, such as capsular contraction and inflamed auxiliary nodes, possibly indicating a condition called ALCL. Maria criticizes the medical professionals for not addressing these concerns and wonders if breast implants can cause other types of breast cancer, such as squamous cell carcinoma. Throughout the episode, Maria stresses the importance of informed consent and believes that being aware of the potential health risks associated with breast implants would have encouraged her to remove them sooner. She also shares her frustrations with the surgeon who placed her new implants against the old capsule, knowing it could cause future problems. Maria is currently experiencing problems related to her implants and emphasizes the need for awareness and accurate information surrounding breast implants. Join us in this eye-opening episode as Maria shares her journey and highlights the importance of understanding the risks and making informed choices regarding breast implants.
