Hello! We are back! Ive been missing for a bit, but I will admit we have a few episodes in the vault so keep it coming. THIS WEEK *drum roll* I sit down with Uneeb, some of you may know him as Osama. I'm not completely sure if they are legit or pseudo names. Let's go with Uneeb Osama! He came prepared and first off wanted to share what he thought was the story of the day, love at first listen for me! He tells me about a study done with rats and cheerios. Hey guys, This is episode is slightly special because the clock is ticking for the play Chuhal. I had a visit from the Director Huda Bhaldar & one of the plays leading actors Saleem Surani. The play revives contemporary Hindi theatre of which Manav Kaul’s work is an epitome. Chuhal is the story of two strangers who fall in love despite their contrasting personalities and the ideas of a happy ending. It’s their journey of discovering oneself and the other that empowers. The play takes you through a series of light-hearted conversations that make you laugh and reflect upon the meaning of love, life and relationships. It's at times based in abstract, at times so real. Come Find out where this 'Chuhal' will lead. A story of love and liberation that is so ordinary yet so extraordinary. It was a fun relaxed chat about the journeys of Huda and Saleem began respectively. All in all it was a fun chat about an upcoming, locally produced play that is coming up in The Junction on the 10th of January. Hello one and all. This week I sit with Dubai based Comedian Imah Dumagay. We didnt decide what we were going to speak about specifically but Imah is so full of such pure love and affection that it was a pivot to most of our discussions. Her being the only Filipina comedian in the region similar to me being the only Sri Lankan one I appreciate her position which which is basically representing a whole country through a skill so I find out her style and how she got addicted to the stage. Apart from talking about that we cover relationships, companionship and a little bit of love. There is no Imah if there is no love and I can confidently say when shes in a room everything gets a little rose tinted to the point where I usually get uncomfortable and have to leave. I think thats a first for me personally because we never hear the post story of a motivational speaker whos given up that sort of life. We most certainly bounce topic to topic but we cover Osman Rohails backstory and did I forget to mention he is also a comedian who frequents jumping on stage. (Yes! Another comedian) He picks our brains a little bit but in the end this is just a free flowing conversation with most things Osman with random tangents popping up every now and then to do with comedy and doing better as a person.
