What's at the root of your dating issues? For me, it's a mixture of being mishandled and improperly taught. But, in this episode we have the opportunity to unpack the events of the past while learning from our mistakes and being held accountable for how we do relationships moving forward. When you heal the root, you change the fruit. So let's do it sis. Listen in as I discuss my dating experiences and the things that God has shown me in this season of singleness.
Romans 5: 3-5 "And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. This hope will not disappoint us, because Godâs love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
Sometimes the calling on your life isn't always as cookie cutter, seemingly easy, financially or emotionally stable, fun or socially acceptable as we want it to be. Sometimes the people we love the most can't even join us on the journey. It can be hard to trust God, it can be hard to see it through all the way until the end but one thing I know for sure is that God keeps his promises. Let's unpack my own personal journey from Chicago, to North Carolina, back to Chicago two years later. Coming back to Chicago has been hard, but at the end of the day, I'll trust the man with the plan and after listening to this episode, it'll be time for you to make your choice too!
Galatians 5:16-26
God knows best, right? When you walk by the Spirit, you give God room to literally blow your mind. But when you pursue the desires of your flesh, you rob him of the opportunity to show up for you. Hereâs the thing - your flesh is selfish and will always pursue instant gratification. But when you allow God to work the fruits of the spirit within you, you will have a joy and a peace like no other. Letâs talk about my recent purchase of my first car and how God worked through me his fruits of the spirit to BLOW MY MIND! Â
Letâs talk about it.Â
So in the last episode, we talked about how to begin to make room for God in your life through being honest, surrendering, grabbing hold of quality accountability partners and committing to doing life with God every day. But this week I want to talk about the power of the distractions that will arise as you begin to grow in your relationship with God. Distractions are normal, but itâs your approach that changes the game! Â
Okay, letâs address this elephant in the room: growing in your relationship with God is not an easy thing to do. Itâs not something you just snap your fingers and BOOM! Itâs done. It requires a lot of intentionality, humility, honesty and patience. There will be tears, there will be break through moments and there will be moments where you donât even know whatsâ going on. But one thing you can count on for sure is that God has everything under control. I know.. I know.. Thatâs cliche and hard to believe in the moment but trust me, his word never comes back void. Gonâ head and get comfortable because this episode is a lot to unpack but itâs so many things you NEED to hear as you allow God to reposition you and make room for HIS perfect will
