The Good, The Bad, and The Sequel
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer

This week, I cashed in a Hall Pass and picked a sequel that’s part slasher, part tropical fever dream — "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer." With a new entry in the franchise on the horizon, there’s no better time to revisit the wild ride that is winning a mysterious trip to an abandoned island resort during hurricane season.

To help unravel this Rube Goldberg chain of Hook Man chaos, we brought back our horror sequel expert Chris Egan. We cover everything from:

  • Why you maybe should tell your family before skipping town

  • That weird dummy in the road

  • Jeffrey Combs crushing it as the creepiest hotel manager ever

  • The world’s worst resort staff

  • And of course... Jack Black in dreadlocks (yikes)

🎭 Next Up: Our First Muppet Sequel!

Next, we’re diving into felt and fantasy with The Muppets’ “Wizard of Oz.” For this one, we had the pleasure of interviewing our first-ever costumer, Katie Irish! She shared her incredible journey from Tennessee stages to Broadway and eventually into TV and film.

We discussed:

  • Designing costumes for Kermit & crew

  • Her big break on The Americans

  • Visiting the legendary Muppet headquarters

  • And tons of behind-the-scenes gems

The Good, The Bad, and The Sequel
Transylmania

This week, we are discussing a sequel that isn't a sequel on the surface but it actually is, "Transylmania". This one has a few of the characters from Dorm Daze 1/2 and delivered like those movies do. We talked about the odd rules of the music box, pausing by mistake or maybe not on a particular scene, Jennifer Lyons crushing it, Musetta kicks butt, and a ton more. I have a "hunch" you will enjoy this one.

The Good, The Bad, and The Sequel
Interview w/ Actress Musetta Vander (Wild Wild West/Mortal Kombat 2/Kicking & Screaming)

The next sequel we’ll be discussing is Transylmania. For it, I chatted with actress Musetta Vander, whose other sequels we’ve already covered — Oblivion 2 and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.

Musetta shared her unique journey from South Africa to Hollywood, which began with her early work as a dancer in music videos, including one for Tina Turner. From there, she went on to appear in Murder, She Wrote, and continued booking multiple projects every year.

She had some great stories about growing up in South Africa, filming Oblivion, working on Wild Wild West, meeting Mike Ditka, and so much more.

The Good, The Bad, and The Sequel
Return to Frogtown

This week, we are discussing a sequel that gave us some pretty insane frog inspired songs, "Return to Frogtown". This one really got under Jamie's skin and we had a bad movie sequel expert Nick join us as well to break down everything this one threw at us. We talked the terrible flying, the lack of fight scenes, a twist that Doug thought happened but didn't, a half frog/half woman, and a ton more. We will never see a sequel like this again but we did discuss who could star in a present day remake. This one will make your "meaner and greener" for sure.

Watch the unedited video review at sequelsonly.com/frogtown2

The next sequel up is "Transylmania" which is a sequel to the Dorm Daze flicks... sorta, it has a few of the same character names but we will take it talk with the amazing Musetta Vander. Musetta talked about her journey from South Africa to Hollywood that included a Tina Turner music video, a Murder She Wrote, Mortal Kombat 2, Wild Wild West, and so much more. Musetta was an absolute blast.

Rhonda Shear (USA Up All Night/Spaceballs)

The next sequel we will discuss is "Return to Frogtown". For it, I chatted with THE Rhonda Shear who had a small role in the sequel. Rhonda has a ton of great tv and film credits but we also discussed her time as a politician, stand up comedy, USA Up All Night, working with WWF, her clothing line, and a ton more. Rhonda also announced she is rebooting Up All Night on her youtube channel (see link below). Great chat with someone who truly fueled my love of sequels and all movies.

Friday the 13th Part 2

This week, we are discussing the sequel that gave us the best horror slasher ever with Friday the 13th Part 2. Without this sequel, we wouldn't have seen Jason in Times Square. In Part 2, we discussed some cool behind-the-scenes stories, how did he find Alice AND transported the body, the drunk somehow surviving, Muffin and Paul, and a ton more.

The next sequel up is "Frogtown II," and for it, I chatted with someone who is the reason I love reasons, Rhonda Shear. Rhonda hosted USA Up All Night, did stand-up, modeled, politics, clothing designer and entrepreneur, actress, and just an overall amazing human being. We discussed a ton but I love hearing about her time cross-promoting with WWF. Amazing chat

Actor Russell Todd (Friday the 13th Part II/Chopping Mall)

The next sequel we will discuss is "Friday the 13th Part 2". For it, I chatted with the Actor Russell Todd, who was the 1st machete victim of Jason Voorhees. Russell talked about his journey from outside Albany, where he grew up thinking he'd be a director, but that quickly changed when someone said he had that look. We discussed an epic audition story that led to his SAG card, his appearance in Friday the 13th Part 2, attending SNL After Parties in the early days, starting his agency for steadicam operators, and his recent return to acting.

The Rage: Carrie 2

This week, we are discussing a listener request with "The Rage: Carrie 2", a sequel I remembered really enjoying as a 13-year-old and still do. We discussed the connection to the original, why the Chess team is never the villains, the parts of the movie borrowed from other '90s flicks, the epic end scene, Rachel's power rules, and more. This was a fun one to discuss, for sure.

Speed 2: Cruise Control

This week we are discussing "Speed 2: Cruise Control", which is on the Mount Rushmore of bad sequels. This one had us discussing the terrible shoe-horned plot, not knowing anything about each other after 7 months, Geiger being a lame bad guy, golf clubs being the corny decoy, having a random character from 1 in part 2, and a ton more. The fact that the end sequence cost almost as much as the budget of the original is crazy. So much screaming and nonsense in this one, but a blast to discuss.
