In this episode, T sits down with Cameron McClaren, a Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist, producer and current touring and session drummer for Larry Fleet. Originally from Greensboro, NC, Cameron moved to Nashville at the age of 18 to chase his dream of being a professional drummer and has since gone from playing shifts on Lower Broadway to playing with international touring acts to thousands of people all around the world.
They discuss his early influences and childhood growing up in a musical family, his move to Nashville at age 18, the ups and downs of making a living in Nashville, the transition from playing cover gigs to touring with international acts, his work as an independent engineer and producer, giving up alcohol, playing storied venues like Madison Square Garden, and much more.
The Beatles song we couldn't think of was "Tomorrow Never Knows":
