In 1998, Ib Christian Bygbjerg was asked to establish a global health section at the University of Copenhagen. The first students were enrolled in the 1-year Master of International Health in 1999, and in 2013, the 2-year Master of Science in Global Health became the section’s main educational programme. In this last episode, Professor Ib reflects on the developments of his field, its terminology, decolonization, and the future of global health, including how to combat the double burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
