Exodus 15:13, “With Your unfailing love (kindness, goodness) You lead the people You have redeemed. In Your might (strength), You guide them to Your sacred home.” God leads us and guides us in His strength, in His sovereignty, meaning “the ultimate authority which no other power or being can overrule.”
When it comes to leading and guiding, God knows best and no one can do it better! The word, lead, means “to go in direction of, to turn eyes toward.” God doesn’t just point us in a direction; He accompanies us where He is leading us!
The word, guide, means “gentle but purposeful leading to a place of refreshing.” As the Ultimate Authority in our lives, God gently leads us!
God guides us to His sacred home, or His dwelling place, His habitation!
Jesus said in John 14:23, “All who love Me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and We will come and make our home with each of them.”
Because God wants us to fellowship with Him, He gently leads us into His presence. He doesn’t push us or pull us. He leads and we must follow.
How does God leads us? —With words. Isaiah 30:21, “Right behind you a voice will say, ‘This is the way you should go,’ whether to the right or to the left.”

When Pharoah and the Egyptians approached the children of Israel at the Red Sea, the Israelites cried, “Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt?” Exodus 14:10-11 NLT
As Moses cried out to the Lord, the Lord answered, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the people to get moving! …Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground,”” Exodus 14:15-16.
Moses’ staff represented the authority of God. In fact, it was called the “Staff of God” in Exodus 4:20. When Moses used the authority God had given him, God was able to divide the Red Sea. The Red Sea that the children of Israel walked through on dry ground was the same Red Sea their enemy drowned in.
And look what the children of Israel said once they were on the other side of the sea. Exodus 15:12-13, “You raised Your right hand, and the
earth swallowed our enemies. With Your unfailing love You lead the people You have redeemed.” But it didn’t just happen because God is
sovereign. It happened because Moses interceded for the people. Moses used his God given authority and opened the door for God to move on their behalf.
In difficult situations, many people pray, “God, You have to do something! Move that mountain! Resist the devil for me. Kill that giant! Calm that storm!” But I wonder if God answers in the same manner that He answered Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? You have the authority I gave you through Jesus’ name! I watch over My Word to perform it! Speak My Word and get moving!”

God is sovereign which means “The Ultimate Authority which no other power or being can overrule.” No other power or being can overrule God! But some people believe that everything that happens inour lives is controlled by God. They will even say that every tragedy, every sickness, every mountain we face is God’s will. This is not what the Bible teaches. If we believe that God controls everything that happens, then why pray? That’s exactly what the devil wants Christians to do; not pray! Jesus said in Luke 10:19, “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy…”. Naturally, the devil doesn’t want you to believe that, let alone practice it. James 4:7 teaches, “So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” The Amplified edition says it this way, “So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.” There are things we are to submit to: things that are from God. We submit to the Word of God, the works of God. But we resist the words of the devil. We resist the works of the devil. God is not controlling the devil, otherwise we would not have to resist him. How do we know what’s the devil and what’s God? Check out this teaching!
