This is my conversation with Geoff Waller. Geoff has worked a full career as a police detective and subsequently taken on high level corporate roles at the likes of Mircosoft.
His most recent challenge is his foray into the short term rental business.
I was keen to have Geoff on the show, as his properties are in North Wales, within the vicinity of the stunning Snowdonia National Park.
When I first became interested in short term lets, it was as a result of listening to great success stories of airbnb's in national parks in the States, such as the Joshua tree National Park, in California. So, I have been keen to find out more about short term lets in and around our great British National Parks. Especially, what makes a good short term let in the area and what are the main challenges one will encounter when taking one on.
Geoff has used all of his clearly very practical life long experience and turned it exceptionally well to property development. The site he purchased was overgrown and neglected, the land was water logged and the some of the building derelict, yet he has managed to turn it into a thriving business – making great profits and significantly increasing the value of the land.
Geoff’s story is not for the faint hearted and to do what he has done has taken, skill and patience along with a financial position which has enabled hm to take the time required to deliver this development.
