This week's podcast includes a few highs and lows; Highs while choosing a song that reminds us of 100% fun in college! Lows talking about Floyd McKissick’s failed attempt at a Black success story called Soul City from the late 70’s in North Carolina. But we did finish it off with the best high, where Elliott and I talked about who are our biggest fans in our lives, which just so happened to be our brothers (we did not coordinate our answers, but it’s pretty cool they were the same)!
Great music this week (as always!) starting with “Back to the Streets” Rudy Norman, “U Got Me” Scar and Big Boi, “Daft Punk is Playing at My House” LCD Soundsystem, “The Get Out of the Ghetto Blues” and “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” from Gil Scott-Heron, “Two Sides of Monsieur Valentine” Spoon, “Git Up Git Out” Outkast and Cee-Lo, “Police and Thieves” Junior Mervin, and the Intro and Outro from Leon Evergreen.
Already working on the next one, it should be out by the end of the week and boy might it be a doozie!
Stay well, be kind to strangers, but most importantly, be kind to yourself.
