In this episode of the Flag to Flag Podcast, Chad and I break down everything going on across NASCAR, IndyCar, and Formula One right now.
We talk about Malukas moving to Penske, what’s happening with McLaren, and take a look at the 2026 IndyCar schedule, spoiler alert: March is PACKED.
Then we shift into F1 domination from Max Verstappen, and the biggest talking point this week: team orders in NASCAR. We get into the whole Hamlin vs Ty Gibbs situation, and how NASCAR handles team dynamics compared to F1.
Plus, we look ahead to Kansas, give our championship predictions, and even talk a bit about the new NASCAR 25 video game and why it matters for the fanbase.
We appreciate you tuning in, this one’s loaded.
Holy crap, what a weekend! We're still in shock from everything that went down in Nashville. John somehow kept a secret for FOUR MONTHS and surprised us with a garage tour of Joseph Newgarden's actual race car - and then the man goes and wins the damn thing! I'm not gonna lie, seeing John tear up when Newgarden crossed the line was something else.
But wait, there's more! The past 24 hours have been absolutely insane for IndyCar news. Will Power to Andretti? Colton Herta moving to F1 as a test driver for Cadillac? What the hell is happening in this sport? We break it all down and try to make sense of the chaos.
Oh, and Oscar Piastri just dominated Zandvoort with a Grand Slam weekend. The kid is absolutely on fire right now. We're giving our picks for Monza this weekend - spoiler alert: we might be getting a little delusional with our Ferrari predictions, but whatever, it's Monza!
Chase Briscoe absolutely demolished the field at Darlington, leading 300+ laps. My driver didn't even survive half a lap, so that was fun. We're backing Ryan Blaney for Gateway this weekend because honestly, Penske just knows how to set up cars for these types of tracks.
Also, big shoutout to Caitlyn Brown from Newgarden's pit crew for making the garage tour happen. If you're listening, we're definitely trying to get you on the show!
Fair warning - John and I picked the exact same drivers for both F1 and NASCAR this week, which is honestly kind of weird for us. But when you know, you know.
We covered local short track racing from Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway, talked about some Austin Cindric supercars news, and yeah, there might have been some technical difficulties because it wouldn't be a Flag to Flag episode without the wifi cutting out at least once.
Subscribe if you want to hear two guys get way too emotional about racing and somehow pick the same drivers every week!
