The Cost of Saying Yes When You Really Want to Say No
The Cost of Saying Yes When You Really Want to Say No Have you ever found yourself saying yes, not because you wanted to, but because it felt easier than facing the discomfort of saying no? In this deeply honest episode of The Filosophy Podcast, I share a personal moment where I almost betrayed my own values under the mask of kindness. What started as a simple ask for help became a powerful lesson in boundaries, self-responsibility, and nervous system awareness. You'll hear me unpack: Why intuition speaks before your brain catches up How people-pleasing, scarcity, and the “rescuer” mask show up What it really means to honour your values when no one else understands How to pause, reset, and respond in alignment 📌 Need help learning how to pause and regulate before you override your truth?Check out the Chill Out Foundations course, this is your nervous system starting point to calm the chaos and make clear, grounded decisions.👉 Explore the Course ⚠️ Content Note: This episode includes a reference to a situation involving domestic violence (not discussed in detail). Please listen in a way that feels safe and supportive for you.

The Myth of Manipulative Kids: Why It’s Really a Call for Safety & Connection
In today’s episode, we’re unpacking one of the most common (and damaging) myths in parenting — the idea that kids are “manipulating” us when they act out. What’s really happening beneath the behaviour? Often it’s a dysregulated nervous system, an unmet need, and a deep call for connection. In this conversation, we’ll explore:✨ Why the “manipulative child” myth exists — and why it’s outdated✨ How young children’s nervous systems really work✨ Why co-regulation is more powerful than correction✨ How labels like “manipulative” create shame and disconnection✨ Simple ways to shift your perspective and support your child through those big moments This is not about permissive parenting — it’s about understanding the human beneath the behaviour, and parenting from a place of nervous system awareness and relational safety. ✨ Mentioned in this episode:Want practical tools to support your own nervous system (especially on those tough parenting days)?Check out my Chill Out Course here  Take what you need, leave what you don’t. You know your child best — and this is your unique parenting journey. Postnatal Depression? It Might Be Unfed Values.
When you're lost in motherhood, it’s easy to think something’s wrong with you. But what if postnatal depression isn’t just hormonal… what if it’s a signal from your soul? In this final episode of our 3-part series, we explore how disconnection from your core values can manifest as sadness, guilt, or emotional numbness—and how reconnecting with your values can help you reclaim a sense of peace, purpose, and presence in motherhood. I’ll share a personal story (spoiler: it involves crying babies, dog poo, and people-pleasing) and walk you through the process of identifying what truly matters to you, so you can begin parenting from a place of self-trust, rather than performance. 🎧 This episode is a reminder: You’re not broken. You might just be out of alignment. Welcome to the Filosophy podcast
Welcome to The Filosophy Podcast. I’m your host, Fionna Findley, and I’m on a quest to explore what it truly means to live a fulfilled, happy, and peace filled life. Because I don’t know about you, but I want to leave this world knowing it’s better for having me in it, not by striving for perfection, ticking all the boxes, or chasing KPIs, but by contributing the unique gifts we’re all blessed with. To do this, we have to find peace amongst the chaos. Because when we cultivate peace within, it ripples out through our families, our homes, our communities, and even the world. So yeah, I kind of am going for world peace, but I believe it starts with personal peace. Here we dive deep into self leadership and how it shapes every part of life, including parenting, entrepreneurship, relationships, career, and personal growth. We’ll merge science and spirituality, bridge the gaps between seemingly contradictory beliefs, and uncover the common truth that connects them all. This is your invitation behind the curtain to witness the fears, doubts, self sabotage, procrastination, and ah ha moments of my own journey. Because when you see it’s possible, you can step into your own wisdom, confidence, and leadershipto inspire others. But this isn’t about following a set path. It’s not a religion, not prescriptive, and definitely not dogmatic. It’s about rewiring and healing our relationship with ourselves so that we can lead, inspire, and connect in ways that are deeply impactful, because this is the medicine the world needs. Join me on The Filosophy Podcast as we explore all this and more together.
