This week at The Film Club we’re kicking off February with a returning theme: John Carpenter Month! And to kick off the month we’re starting with a classic that is celebrating its 45th anniversary, The Fog! The Film takes place in the costal town of Antonio Bay which is celebrating its 100th anniversary. As the clock strikes midnight on the anniversary of the town strange occurrences begin to happen and a mysterious glowing fog rolls in on the ocean and envelops a fisherman’s boat leaving no survivors. The next morning the townspeople can’t explain what happened at midnight and the fishermen’s boat is found adrift by a local named Nick and a hitchhiker he picked up the night before named Elizabeth. When Nick and Elizabeth board the boat they find the boat eerily quiet until they go below deck to discover the bodies of the missing fishermen. Nightfall soon approaches again and the mysterious fog returns, it’s soon discovered that the fog isn’t doing the killing its ghosts from the past that are seeking revenge for an injustice that occurred 100 years ago. Join us as we dive into the world of The Fog.
