Episode 32: We Did It Again
We have once again returned for another episode! Smashing! Bravo. Episode 32: We Did It Again. Recorded That is.   Litterbox   We are still here. Terri: Trying to be relatively regular.   Libby: Busy getting ready for Forest and such - had a couple nice weekends at home   PAWS Terri:  Aimee Cardigan- Joji Locatelli (ravelry)All of my partial skeins of Malabrigo Arroyo…well most of them will be popped into this. I hit gaubodyge exactly on my swatch. Doing as a tiny KAL with some people in a group for flannelandpurls. I have bound off the body and started a sleeve which was interesting due to my color decisions.  DRK Everyday cardigan- using Fiber company Lore in the colorway Healer. I’m a bit further than I thought, though I didn’t work on this. I’m about 5 inches in.  My Favorite Vanilla Socks-MCN dyed by a friend of mine over a decade ago in a colorway called Prep School-2010….I added this to my stash. In October 2010. Let’s talk about 2010. ALMOST 15 years ago. Anyways, I turned the heel and am about an inch into the foot.    Obama was President. The Walking Dead, Sherlock, and Downton Abbey debuted, Matt Smith debuted as The Doctor, Eclipse was in the theater.      Instagram was a baby, literally… It was born in 2010    Weekend Cami-Aimee Sherr Cast on in The Wandering Flock Cotton Lino- in the color petal. 35% Organic Cotton, 30% Mulberry Silk, 20% Linen, 15% Alpaca. What a dream to knit with. I want all my summery shirts in this yarn if at all possible. The pattern is alright…it is well written so far, but definitely a different writing style than I’m used to. So, getting used to it has been fun. I should print the pattern out, it’s not my favorite to peruse on my phone.  Libby: Colorblock Bag - stashed    Wizard Hat by Morale Fiber - stashed   Crochet bucket hat - haven’t started yet    Golden rod wrap top - Knitpicks Galileo in Meteor, on the front panel approx. 2 rows done on both left and right sides   Annie Bucket Hat - I got some yarn for free - 3 skeins of Lions Brand “go for Faux” in the color Mink (pastel pink and charcoal). Getting the actual hat started took a couple of tries due to the magic circle and the type of yarn. Very hard to see the stitches ( you can’t) but I’ve been just feeling for them and adding stitch markers every stitch the first round and every other stitch the second round. Had to order new hooks again after I did the swatch with the only hook I had close as it wasn’t close enough haha FO PAWS Terri- Cold Hearts Hat -Ravelry link. I cast this on and finished this between podcasts sort of. I touched on this last time. Used all handspun. Row gague was a tiny bit off but I just shortened the crown a bit. Needs some blocking, but looks great! The colorwork was yarn I spun from a bat I made of mixed wools, corriedale, sari silk, etc. The main color was spun from a bat from Leaf Livestock.  Libby: none ya girl has not had time for finishing projects From Fluff to Stuff-  I have spun up MOST of my Mellyknits guts and they have been quite lovely. One was Alpaca/north country cheviot and the other is a clun florest/silk. I have one more That is Observatory Hills corriedale (I LOVE their Corriedale) and some yak to card up yet.   I acquired fleeces when we went to Shepherd’s Harvest over Mother’s Day weekend Ooh Shiny!    Terri-  The Human Hat -Ravelry Link- WIll be casting this one when the yarn arrives. Needed a couple colors. Gonna cast on now that I got my minis.   Still pining for some cotton/linen/wool blend yarns. Looking at trying Undine DK from Ritual Dyes, Sandnes Garn Line, and Linen Quill from Purl Soho for some projects. I  Libby: Tried to start a dino and it was tough with the pattern as there is no hook size so I need to play around with them.   SURPRISE OOH SHINY   Leisure Suit-   Terri- Finished Andor, want to watch it again. It was SO GOOD. SO GOOD.    Watched MOBLAND, in like 3 sittings. Definite binge watch. Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan Joanne Frogatt (

The Epic Return
Episode 31: The Epic Return   Litterbox   We are still here. Terri: I got sick, Libby’s computer broke…like what is it with computers this year? I’ve been going through it due to a family issue.    Libby: Yep my computer broke almost immediately after we got through my busy time and had some time to record lol. Finally got a new one and got it all setup and then we entered my 2nd busiest time. Hopefully I will have some time now that it’s calmed down a bit    PAWS Terri:  Aimee Cardigan- Joji Locatelli (ravelry)All of my partial skeins of Malabrigo Arroyo…well most of them will be popped into this. I hit gauge exactly on my swatch. Doing as a tiny KAL with some people in a group for flannelandpurls. I am about 7 inches into the body DRK Everyday cardigan- using Fiber company Lore in the colorway Healer. I’m about 3 inches into the body My Favorite Vanilla Socks-MCN dyed by a friend of mine over a decade ago in a colorway called Prep School-carmel brown to a darker reddish brown, reds, blues, greens. Prep school is pretty accurate.   Libby: Colorblock Bag - stashed    Wizard Hat by Morale Fiber - stashed for now   Crochet bucket hat - haven’t started yet    Golden rod wrap top - Knitpicks Galileo in Meteor, Back panel is done - I did not finish before Infrasound because I’ve been running into issues on the front. I’ve done it like 3-4 times and I can’t tell if it’s my counting or the pattern sizing - I did see some comments on this somewhere, so I may just start the other side of the front panel and do them together row by row just making sure I do the same thing on both sides.   Annie Bucket Hat - I got some yarn for free - 3 skeins of Lions Brand “go for Faux” in the color Mink (pastel pink and charcoal). So I’m going to make this hat - I forgot to bring it this weekend to work on but I started a swatch for it and will be making it FO PAWS Terri- Hechima Collar Sweater: (ravelry link)Noriko Ichikawa Cascade 220 in Jet Leith Hat: I’ve started another. I got to find the label. Purple variegated yarn with orange speckles,Evergreen Fiber works. Dahlia colorway My Favorite Vanilla Socks-Whimsical Wood Yarn- base Super Sparkle Sock-Glowing Jelly. I had to search my email for the order to figure that out.  Musselburgh-Ysolda Teague Just 2nd set of decreases left. SO close DRK Everyday Cowl- Handspun Greens Coming along. I do a bit here and there. Just need to do Icord bind off. Might finish.(ravelry)   Libby: none ya girl has not had time for finishing projects From Fluff to Stuff-  I have spun up MOST of my Mellyknits guts and they have been quite lovely. Terri- Harlow Flip (ravelry). EIther looking at some handspun to knit this or a combo of handspun and my Spincycle that I picked up in Chicago last year.    Looking for a delicious sport weight/DK linen cotton or linen wool yarn. So, if anyone has some suggestions. Let me know. I’ve barely used any. I think I have one sweater in Lindy Chain from Knit Picks. It was ok. A bit splitty but I just switched to blunt tip wood needles and that seemed to work fine.    Libby: These dino nuggets by Okey dokey crochet - I MUST make some of these with all the extra/leftover blanket yarns I have. Brought the materials to make one this weekend. Leisure Suit-   Terri- I started watching Bosch and I am currently watching Bosch legacy. My husband and I are watching Andor.   Libby: Finished WWITS and immediately rewatched   I’m watching MadMen - on season 3. The first few seasons are SOOOO GOOOD   Restarted our yearly trailer park boys watch Started Jersey shore again lol Basketball lol   Catnip-  Terri-We went to Shepherd’s harvest over Mother’s Day Weekend. Episode 29: Play it Where it Lies
Episode 29: Play it Where it Lies   Litterbox Terri:I’m choosing a topic this time: Favorite thing in your craft that you learned or did last year. Could be favorite project, could be favorite technique…anything. Also, least favorite I’ll add mine when I decide. Favorite: Learning to wash fleeces. I was really intimidated by it. But, I love it. There’s something so interesting about it. I am starting to card up and spin some of the fleece I washed and it’s kind of amazing to me that I will be able to see things through almost the whole process.    My least favorite thing: I don’t really have one. Maybe not making Shepherd’s Harvest a priority and missing it.    Libby: Hmmm favorite thing - I would say either my hat I just did as I loved working with different textures of yarn and learning new stitches. Not a ton of time for crafting so far in 2025 as I’ve been working super long days   PAWS Terri:  The Purl Code (ravelry link)-Using my Leicester Long wool from Jubilee Farms that I got at Wisconsin Sheep and Wool. I’m into the body. Hoping I Have enough. It’s thick and thin and so it’s really hard to figure gauge and yardage.    Juniper Cowl-Toni Lipsey- I haven’t made any progress   My Favorite Vanilla Socks-in the home stretch on sock 1. Adventurous Wrap-(ravelry link) no progress   Palmistry miits-Stephanie Lotven using my handspun icelandic with the pops of neon that I spun up. Finished one mitt. Leith Hat: Ysolda Teague. Maybe my favorite hat ever honestly. Whimsical Wood Yarn DK in Smitten Ass colorway    DRK Everyday Cowl- Handspun Greens Libby: Colorblock Bag - stashed    Wizard Hat by Morale Fiber - stashed though I may dig this back out and retry after my wrap top gets going   Crochet bucket hat - haven’t started yet    Golden rod wrap top - Knitpicks Galileo in Meteor, just started my swatch - there’s a couple option things in the pattern so I’ll be debating which ones. The hood doesn’t look too hard but maybe its best to start small. There is also an option to choose ties or faux wrap and I THINK I’m going to go with just ties. The optional detailing trim  is so cute also so I may attempt it  FO PAWS Terri-Nothing for me   Libby:  Cat Sith Beanie - Earth Tricks - I am IN LOVE with my hat. It is all finished up, I may lightly block it just to make it a little more slouchy/etc. But it is so cute I want to make another with different yarns. She has a ton of other cute patterns that are similar so I may try one of those as well. Maybe make something matching too.  From Fluff to Stuff- I took a good chunk of time and reorganized my work space. I now have a pretty good dyeing set up. And my work space where I spin, prep fiber, and card (someday sew) is in pretty good shape. I now have ALL of my stash in one place.    I spun some gorgeous BFL dyed by grittyknits in fluorescent green and yellow. It is just gorgeous.  I also am still spinning up my mimikyu batt for my pokemon replendence shawl Ooh Shiny!    Terri- Through Flannel and Purls I found out about a fiber artist called Mellyknits some time ago. I’m currently stalking her shop update on January 26. Also Wafa is back in January and will be the weekend of the 24th through the 26th.    I may…have gotten some Montadale from the Frivolous Ewe. I’m so excited to play with it!   Libby:  There’s not a ton catching my eye as I’ve been off social media lately a bit more and working a lot. I have been watching some videos about felting so I may try and start one of my kits soon.    Leisure Suit-   Terri- We rewatched season 1 of Severence in preparation for Season 2 this Friday. Steve and I LOVE this show. The acting is amazing. It has Adam Scott from Parks and Rec (and many other things) as the main character. It also has Brit Lower, Patricia Arquette, John Tuturro, Christopher Walken. All the acting is superb. It’s Directed and produced by Ben Stiller who I am normally not a huge fan of. But, this is great.    Libby: Haven’t watched any more of the crown yet

Episode 28: It's Been a Reasonable Amount of Time Since the Last Episode
Episode 28: It’s Been a Reasonable Amount of TIme Since the Last Episode   Litterbox Terri: I did get a cat for Christmas   Libby: Lots of fun things going on except I had to work during christmas week so that wasn’t that fun but now I’m on day 1 of 5 that I have off.   PAWS Terri:  The Purl Code (ravelry link)-Using my Leicester Long wool from Jubilee Farms that I got at Wisconsin Sheep and Wool. It’s a variegated yarn so I thought this would be a fun pattern for that sort of coloring. Libby: Colorblock Bag - stashed    Wizard Hat by Morale Fiber - stashed   Crochet bucket hat - haven’t started yet    Golden rod wrap top - Knitpicks Galileo in Meteor, very deep lovely green in person, it showed up last week and I was hoping to start it but I haven’t done a ton of crocheting.   Cat Sith Beanie - I am almost to the end of this one. I’m debating adding another row or two before starting the ribbing just based on how it’s sitting on my head currently and based on how I like my hats to fit. The ribbing is like an inch thick so I think that will be perfect. I need to redo the decorative fluffy row that is crocheted on top of a row as some of it pulled out because it is hard to see if you’re getting things in the right spot on that yarn.  Hope to finish this week and then I’ll start my top and maybe start an amigurumi or something small. FO PAWS Ilya Sweater- Caitlin Hunter -Finished. Big Dice Energy Hat Ravelry Link Malabrigo Arroyo Prussia Blue and Neon Green that I hand dyed. Libby: Nothing for me!   From Fluff to Stuff- I’ve been taking some time over my holiday to work on prepping some corriedale for carding that I got at Wisconsin Sheep and wool.    Been continuing on with carding and spinning up yarns for my Resplendence Shawl. This week I finished spinning and plying up Charmander and carded up Squirtle. Squirtle is quite gorgeous and a wonderful spin. I’m using some farm blend from Frivolous Ewe. Some hand dyed Merino Silk. I blended in some more silk and some angelina. Ooh Shiny!    Terri- Catknit Pullover-Andrea Rangel I really want to knit this. Fingering weight sweaterz   Pokemon Knitting-Katie Boyette I got this  for Christmas so I may need to shop for some worsted weight colors to knit up some pokemon.   Also found a skein of yarn on our thrifting adventure this morning. I got a 400 yard sport weight teeswater yarn in greens, peaches/pinks. It’s gorgeous!   Libby: Got some fun presents and found some yarn on our thrifting adventure this morning: -mushroom felting kit, so now i have 2 lol. Gonna watch some videos this week. -Ball winder and swift which was MUCH NEEDED   -Himalaya velvet which is a chenille but I don’t know much about it other than that. About 2 full skeins in a lavender color -Red heart colorscape yarn Montreal is the color. Some red, pinks, grays and a little purple. 2 full skeins plus a pattern for a cowl so maybe I’ll start that next.   Leisure Suit-   Terri- Not been watching much. We finished What we Do in the Shadows.    Libby: Haven’t watched any more of the crown yet   GBBS - watched the holiday one, won’t give spoilers    I’m on like season 3 or 4 of shameless now   No progress on rings of power Been watching a ton of crime docs, just random ones. Some christmas movies, and the doctor who christmas special Catnip-  Terri-I say stuff   Libby: Spending time with my family over Christmas. We also went to Fargo for some shopping and went thrifting as mentioned.   The Fluff-  Terri-Sweet kitties. Libby- I haven’t seen much of Penny since she’s at home with Brian. He said she’s pretty salty and annoyed I’m not there so it will be awesome to see her tomorrow. He’s sent me a bunch of pictures of her sleeping o

Liongate Farm Libby: Nothing for me!   From Fluff to Stuff-    I’ve been using my drum carder. I absolutely love it. I decided to start spinning for a Resplendence Shawl, by Stephen West. So, I’m carding 2 ounce batts to spin up in different colors to make the “waves” of the shawl.I have so far carded Sprigatito, Gengar, Venusaur, and Trubbish. Right now, I’m working on a Charizard and…something pink. I have been theming my colors after different Pokemon.  So much carding and spinning I’m not really sure where to pick up here.    Ooh Shiny!    Terri-Felting stuff and dyeing stuff. Other than that just random things that pop up in my socials. Nothing in particular but Lionsgate Farm Wafa vendor. This link will take you to their website. You can see the items they have to sale and it links to all their socials including her impressive You Tube page.     Libby: I went to michael’s the other day and they were having a yarn sale so I got 2 skeins of 2 different yarns. The Michael’s we went to had a way better selection than the one near me does. Don’t know what I’m doing with them…probably some sort of amigurummi with the blanket yarn Haven’t had any patterns or anything else really catching my eye Leisure Suit- Terri- Criminal Minds mostly. I did start watching Outlander.    Libby: I’m just about to season 5 of the crown. I think I have 1 or 2 episodes left in season 4. Episode 26: And The Sheep
Been a hot minute but today we cover the last six weeks on our unplanned hiatus. Mostly we talk about Wisconsin Sheep and Wool. Litterbox Terri: I have wool coming out of my ears. Wisconsin Sheep and Wool. Will talk about this here a bit. Libby: I got some really fun things at Wisco Sheep and wool. I’ll cover what I got in the Ooh shiny section. I also had so much fun just looking at things and hanging out. I had my busiest month, but after the 27th things should calm down a little for me. PAWS Terri: Ilya Sweater- Caitlin Hunter I’m using Ullcentrum Yarn in a heathered black, turquoise, and light gray. Juniper Cowl-Toni Lipsey- I haven’t made any progress My Favorite Vanilla Socks-I haven’t made any progress Musselburgh Hat-Ysolda. I think this is my 8th or 9th, not sure. I am making this out of 100 Ravens Yaksha fingering in a purple gradient mini set. 70 merini 20 yak and 10 nylon. Yaksha fingering Adventurous Wrap-(ravelry link) I’ve just about got the first half of this done. Not made a lot of progress on this one this month, but I will pick it back up soon. I’ve been wanting to get to the halfway point decisively. Palmistry miits-Stephanie Lotven using my handspun icelandic with the pops of neon that I spun up. Just at the ribbing. Libby: Colorblock Bag - stashed Wizard Hat by Morale Fiber - stashed Crochet bucket hat - easy design. Haven’t officially started but I am gathering colors Golden rod wrap top - earthtricks, haven’t officially started, but deciding on yarn. Going to do the sleeveless hoodless version first Cat Sith Beanie - swatch is done, deciding which color to use first and wanted to finish my legwarmers before I really got going (got distracted) Happy Glamper Cup Cozy - Craftily Connected website, admittedly haven’t looked at anything else on the site, just found this pattern and started it with my new hook & some (I think it’s cotton?) yarn I was given from Terri’s stash. I just started this last night but I am learning how to do a foundation SC instead of chaining so I had to frog and will restart as I didn’t read the pattern well enough and did not leave a long tail. FO PAWS Terri: Ezra Vest-Orlane Sucche I am doing this in Kelbourne Woolens Scout the Juniper Heather colorway. This is done. Dustland Hat- Stephen West Leaf Livestock DK-chartreuse Purl Soho Classic Cuffed Beanie- in handspun. I think it was polypay that I spun up in a slightly uneven worsted weight yarn from Mitten State wool. I almost ran out. I closed the top one round early and I had about 8 inches of yarn left. Paul Klee Sweater (ravelry link)- Midori Hirose On the second sleeve! Might finish by the time we record Libby: Crochet Cozy Legwarmers - All done! These turned out so cute, they’re thick and cozy (the title was correct). If I made them again I would maybe pick a yarn that is slightly thinner because they did get pretty bulky in spots. Perfect for our falling temperatures we are FINALLY getting. Will photograph this week. From Fluff to Stuff Let’s talk Fleeces. I have really come into a lot of wool fleeces lately. Ooh Shiny! Terri: Fleeces. I want all the different kinds. I thought I would take this opportunity to talk about what I got in Wisconsin if I can remember it all. HAHA… I bought 3 fleeces and picked up one I purchased already. First one was an incredible Corriedale from Observatory Hill Farm. I have washed this one already and it is AMAZING. Soft, Various Grays. It is so beautiful. That sheeps name was Icey (Ice Wine). Second one I bought was an Icelandic from Redmer Farms. It’s a gorgeous gray and white varied fleece. It’s stunning. I have washed this one already. It barely needed it, I swear it was the cleanest fleece I’ve ever seen. VM is almost non-existant. It was the easiest thing I’ve ever cleaned. His name was Mortimer/Morty and he came with a thank you note for buying his fleece. It is adorable. Third one was some da

I’m was on the #campwooligan team. I did quite a bit for Tour de Fleece. I did a 500 + yard skein of fingering weight (2 ply) that I spun up from rolags I made from some farm merino from Leaflivestock and some stuff I dyed. It’s gorgeous. Also from Leaflivestock, I spun up a 3 ounce Merino columbia and tencel batt in some lovely grays.  I spun up a 4 ounce braid of bfl in very muted but gorgeous colors from Hens and Chicks fiber, I also spun up about 3 ounces of rolags that were Ruthie themed. That turned out quite lovely. I did 4 ounces of rolags from Gritty Knits. THey are wildly colored. I love them. THey are very tweedy and multicolored. I spun up some weird rolags I made (will explain). Last but not least, I spun up some locks! Those are fun! My husband also bought me a tensioned lazy kate.  Ooh Shiny!  Terri: I thought I would talk about a couple things. FIrstly, our trip to Chicago and the yarn shopping! We made it to two stores the Bloomin’ Spindle and Knit1. Both lovely stores and I loved my acquisitions. I will elaborate and you will as well I’m sure.    Spincycle Yarns- scroll down to see the great things this company offers their employees. Then definitely do some shopping.    Second: Last weekend I went to the Fargo Fiberfest. I found a few things I really liked and picked them up. I will elaborate on that too. This year had much less fiber than last. More yarn. I knew someone who had CVM would be there, but I wanted fiber unfortunately all they brought was yarn and I wasn’t really looking for yarn because I definitely scratched that itch in Chicago.    Libby: Yarn I got from Bloomin’ Spindle and knit1. No idea what I will do with any of these yarns   Farmers daughter - reminisce in Come an get your love 3 skeins Montana and wy ramboulet Plucky knitter - legacy bulky in happy glamper - shaniko wool   Bought a couple of patterns to get looking at: Crochet bucket hat - easy design. I spoke about this previously, gonna pick fall colors I think?   Golden rod wrap top - earthtricks, so cute pattern comes with option for sleeves and hood, I may try a non-hooded sleeveless one to start. Not sure on color yet I think i covered this one a LONG  LONG time ago.   I also ordered a kit from Earthtricks, comes with an assortment of yarn in fun colors and thicknesses and 1 pattern. I think I chose the Unicorn fluff color (blues/purples) and the pattern I chose was the cat sith beanie   Leisure Suit- Terri-Midsummer Murders has been put on the back burner. I’m so deep into Criminal Minds. I think it’s because I’m not paying a ton of attention. I’m sometimes reading, and also usually knitting and doing other things.    My Life is Murder has a new season up. I watch that one each time a new episode is uploaded. Also House of Dragon.   Libby:  Olympics House of Dragon - caught

It’s quite a gorgeous color.   I went rolag wild. I spun up 2 of 4 ounces of rolags from Gritty Knits. I also spun up most of 4 ounces of Panda from Gritty Knits in a neon green colorway. It has bits of orange and even some dark green to brown. It’s quite lovely. SO BRIGHT   Speaking of Gritty Knits, I also spun up some some aqua/grey/black textured rolags. These have like everything, merino, corriedale, south american wool, sari silk,, silk noil,  flax, viscose. They are gorgeous.   I spun another half set of rolags from Hidden Pastures I had talked about some rolags I made in purples. I spun those up. Had a lot of one of the colors left. Probably an ounce extra. So, I spun up some pink/purple ones as well to ply with it. That came out perfectly.  Ooh Shiny!  Terri: Hmmm. If the rest of the world judged England based on this show…my goodness LMFAO. It’s so funny. I am somehow on season 6. I don’t know how.   Continuing with Vampire diaries.Bonnie bought some bad people back from the dead. (I actually meant when she brought back random vampires and put them in Oscar and Jo, not the Heretics.)   Now Damon and Stephen are trapped in the Phoenix stone thing.  I watched another episode of FBI. The acting on this show is not the best. I watched the first 3 episodes of a Gentleman in Moscow.    Libby: I’ve been reading more than watching tv or anything (whoops) - finished the firsts ACOTAR book. I also picked up 2 other books: the Colour of Magic (the first discworld book) by Terry Pratchett and The marvelous light by Freya Marske which is supposed to be kind of similar to neverwhere and was highly recommended to me.   Sopranos - season 4 still I think, we haven’t watched much since Brian had a trip he went on   Vampire Diaries - restarted a little further than where I left off. The show moved from streaming on HBO to Peacock so I couldn’t figure out exactly where I was and I needed a refresher. I’m at the part where Sherrif Forbes just died (very sad) and Enzo hits Matt with the car in front of Sara   Catnip- My mom’s 80th bday in Fargo at Brewhalla. It was SO BUSY because they were having their  Fooler’s Ball. But, my mom had a great time so it was a lot of fun. Another good thing. Talk about Majestic e spinner from Level wind Systems.   Libby: I mostly have been working and preparing to move so finding a catnip was a little hard this time. I did get to see a show with some friends at the Majestic Theater this weekend and it was fun!   The Fluff- Terri: Cats are great!   Libby: Penny has taken to laying in my new suitcase! This month’s wafa is the 26th, 27th and 28th of APril   Libby: I can’t remember anything that’s happened lol I’m just working all the time. The I’m So Basic Sock (Ravelry link)-Summer Lee toe left of one sock (maybe I’ll finish by the time we record)   Libby: none   From Fluff to Stuff and dyepots- Finished spinning up the second half of my Romney lamb from 3L&S and then plied it. It is lovely.   Also finished my Alpaca Merino Fire Star from Clear Sky Fibers, plied that as well.   I spun up a 3 ounce bat from Ajem fiber arts called shark in the water and plied it together with itself. That is a gorgeous mix of plies and purples. It’s quite lovely. I’m not sure what the mix was as I lost the tag. I’m guessing merino…some sari silk.   I had a little of that left over and I plied that with some of the leftover Romney lamb that I had and made a really fun sample sized skein.   I spun up and plied about 3 ounces of rolags from Jesse Javete fiber arts. They were greens! So pretty. Spun up really well.    I also spun a 4 oz braid of merino/bamboo. It was really pretty colors. Was a bit harder to spin, needed a lot of prep. I cannot remember where I got that one so if I can figure it out I will pop it in the notes.     I spun up some fiber I dyed.  Ooh Shiny!  Terri: AnnieCarrawayArt-Cute Crochet Loaf Cats-2 separate links   Looking at socks and vests again. She crochets and does nails & she sells her crocheted object. If you want to buy something without making it - her website is nails-by-bay.myshopify.com and she is going by Bknotty handcrafts. I finished spinning and plying the blue, purple, and green fiber that I got from Qwerky FIberwerks .  Right now what I have in the works, I have 2 ounces of a pindrafted roving from Clear Sky Fiber Arts spun up.  I spun up a Columbia/Merino batt from Leaf Livestock.  I also spun up an ounce of some rolags I made when I was messing with my carders and spun up a columbia/ramboullet combed top from Leaf livestock and plied those together. I just love their fiber. It’s so lovely.  I took a braid of superwash merino that I got in my grittyknits monthly fiber club and put it on my blending board with some merino, angora, sari silk. Mostly in light blues. I used about half of it in rolags. I then took the other half and spun it as is and plied it.  Aside from that, I took a couple hours on Sunday to make up some GORGEOUS rolags if I do say so myself. I feel like I’m really starting to get the hang of it.  I did spin up two of my rolag colors, blue/green and made a gorgeous plied yarn with them. About 2 ounces of each color. I also spun up half of my Romney lamb roving from 3L &S farms. I spun up 4 of 8 ounces. It spun up quick. What a joy to spin! Ooh Shiny!  Terri: Rare sheep breeds to spin. Wafa is a HUGE help to me in this area.   Fleetwood- Tanis Lavallie   Libby: Cardigans - I’ve seen tons of granny square and hexagon cardigans - those are fun MJs off the hook designs - Michelle Moore (she/her) tons  of cute patterns in general, loving the Granny Pop Hoodie    SunnyDaze Creations Bolero - Samanth LoseI think it just came out - I love this one, might make it a future project sooner than later Leisure Suit- Terri- Silent Witness Continuing with Vampire diaries. Episode 19: 5 Takes Not Take 5. Topics today include Litterbox, PAWS, From Fluff to Stuff, Ooh Shiny!, Leisure Suit, Catnip, and the Fluff. (Maybe Dyepots)   Litterbox Terri: This week was so warm. Last weekend was Wafa weekend, I wafa’d my little heart out.    Libby:  It was warm here too. I’ve been working though lol   PAWS Terri:   Manou- By Isabell Kraemer- Butterfly Wing Shawl-  Simple Pleasures in Line weight +Tussock-    Shift Cowl -   Libby: Colorblock Bag - stashed Weighted Crochet Blanket -  Crochet Cozy Legwarmers  Wizard Hat by Morale Fiber -   FO PAWS   Terri: Leith Hat-Ysolda Teague Yay done in Dreamy Magic- all the colors by A Whimsical Wood Yan Co Gramps Cardigan- I FINISHED. Just awaiting buttons and a block. A few bumps. There are a few design choices I made to change it.  Libby: none From Fluff to Stuff -II plied the Montadale that I spun last time. Somehow had a bit left on a bobbin.  I also plied the green rolags with the bfl like I discussed last time. ALso had a bit of this green leftover, so I took this and the montadale and plied them together to make a really fun little mini skein.  I spun up an additional 4oz of a BFL/Dorset mix from Sheepishly Made out of Michigan. This was a wafa purchase. I am really interested in trying different mixes and breeds that I’ve not tried before.  I also spun up 4 ounces of something that is very soft. I had gotten a couple braids of a new wool called Shaniko from Grittyknits. It is pretty soft. This was an overall minty colored skein with pops of neons throughout. It is stunning spun up. And was such a nice spin. I find soft things sometimes a pain to spin. Or a bit fussy maybe??? This was like buttah…seriously so nice. I definitely suggest checking it out. I need some more, but I’ve gotta spin up some stuff to make room because as I mentioned earlier, I wafa’d my little heart out.    I made up some rolags…a lot of rolags (posted on Insta) I’ve been spinning some of the green ones. I did about 2 ounces, then spun 2 ounces of a green gray to ply with that.    I then grabbed some of my jessie javete fiber arts rolags. I had 3.2 ounces and I split those and will ply them together. These are a mix of really pretty sort of earthy colors. In Merino and then they have sari silk throughout. The yarn will probably be a bit thick and thin with some of the additions. I think it will be quite lovely, though.   I grabbed a 4 ounce bump of a wafa purchase from alpaca pines. It is a mix of Romney and suri alpaca. Also looks to have a bit of Angelina in it as well. I have half of this spun up.    Finally, I also grabbed a braid of 18.5 micron (superfine) and shimmer nylon. I’m spinning this quite thing. Might be my first legit 2ply fingering weight once I ply it. Spinning up like a dream. It’s in blue/purple and green. I got this from Qwerky FIberwerks at the Fargo Fiber Festival.  Ooh Shiny!  Terri: I got real fixated on vests. Then I remembered bookmarking a pattern called Layla by Elizabeth Smith. I’m obsessed. I also saw and become quite enamored with The Hechima Collar Sweater by Noriko Ichikawa    I’ve been shopping for hand carders. I’ve got that fleece to process so I’m thinking I need some. I’m considering Ashford Hand carders. Are there others out there that are good? Idk. Anyone have any suggestions?   Libby:  Fishies pattern - Etsy shop: Rubyburt - want to make some, may add silvervine to make some cat toys Hat pattern - Sarahmaker ran by Sarah Stearns - going to make this one first, I’ve used her website a TON while learning   2 new hooks: Tulip - can’t remember why I ordered this one but it does feel nice in the hand Kollage Square Hooks - Feels SO NICE, pointed for the waistcoat stitch Leisure Suit- Terri- Silent Witness, True Detective Night Country   Continuing with Vampire diaries.  Libby: All of my shows have started back up, it’s great but there’s so many I can’t remember which days they air   Bachelor - Joey Curb your enthusiasm -  season 11? I then started and finished some merino and silk noil rollags from Jesse Javete and I wasn’t sure what to ply them with, so I did up some black and hot pink merino rollags. Those came out so HAWt lol. It’s like Lisa Frank and Darth Vader had a baby wrapped in a pride flag. It’s glorious. And lo and behold I had some of the pink and black leftover from that. So, I then took the merino in pink and black and pied it with the remaining alpaca, and then some of the polypay for about an ounce of some really cool marled yarn. It all turned out so fabulous. I need to wash and get pictures up.   Ooh Shiny!  I need a quick project. Will find some. A medium sized sheep breed that was developed in the 1960s at the US Sheep Experimentation Station in Idaho. They are noted for being good meat and wool sheep. They are a cross of 4 sheep breeds: Rambouillet, Targhee, Dorset, and Finnsheep. I am enjoying it a lot. I’m spinning it the thinnest I’ve spun yet. It’s so easy to spin. It’s roving instead of top so it’s not as smooth but it’s very soft. Fibercats dyepots: Overdye projects-Cascade 220 and Cascade Merino Dream Ooh Shiny!
