Listening to stories particularly from Black women on the island of Puerto Rico, from their experiences being raised in the city of San Juan but in shaping the stories in the outlook of where Puerto Rico, only being a U.S. territory, may have led to less aid to the Caribbean island in the impact of Hurricane Maria and the recent Covid-19 pandemic. Essentially, it’s about listening to the voice of the seemingly unrepresented. "The Eyes of Maria,” is a play on words as we are listening to the stories of the historically unseen diaspora here on the island, but who in many cases have seen it all
