We're no strangers to walking away from a wedding with a small stack of SD cards and seeing 10,000+ images loading into Lightroom in one import...
But you know what? We're proud of that.
Early in our business we used to hear more established wedding photographers talk about actively shooting less and less on their weddings...
And we used to hear things like 'let's face it, couple's won't know what we don't shoot...'
To be honest, it struck us as a pretty cold sentiment.
We decided early on we were committed to our couples, and we made the decision to be the kind of photographers they felt confident hiring - even if it meant spending a few extra hours in the edit or buying a couple of extra hard drives each year.
And you know what? We've had a hell of a lot of success as a result.
In today's episode we're sharing our thoughts on why this mindset is holding photographers back, and giving a different perspective on a topic that is often talked about amongst photographers.
We hope you enjoy this episode, and any questions you have send us an email at hello@zachandgrace.co, we'd love to hear from you!

Having two-way communication with your clients is SO important as a Wedding Photographer, and can make the difference between feeling anxious and feeling confident on the day.
We often forget that for most of our couples, planning a wedding is something they're new at... obvious right?
But how many of us have looked at a schedule and through 'this is going to be impossible!', and immediately started to panic a little inside about just how we're going to be able to perform.
The thing is, once you engage in that two-way communication with your couples and start opening up about what you feel could be negatively impacting either your work or their experience, you can overcome that fear.
We don't need to make assumptions about what our couples are expecting when we look at those schedules, or those mood boards, and then feel the pressure to live up to something we don't feel is possible... we can simply start the conversation and work with our couples to figure not only what's possible but what matters to them.
We hope you enjoy this episode, and any questions you have send us an email at hello@zachandgrace.co, we'd love to hear from you!

Every Wedding Photographer experiences TWO stages of growth... and its really important to understand what stage you're in, to make sure you're making the right decisions in your business.
The first stage is all about building your portfolio, gaining experience, and truly starting to qualify yourself as a Wedding Photographer.
In this first stage you'll be held back from charging what you want to charge by what you in lack in portfolio and what you lack in experience.
At this stage in your business, showing MORE helps you increase your price; more real weddings to your portfolio, more experience under your belt, more testimonials from previous clients.
But... When you're established, increasing your price requires something different.
It's not about showing MORE, it's about REFINING what you show.
Increasing your price in this second stage is all about attracting clients who can pay more, and for that you need to be showing work that's relevant to them.
That might actually mean showing LESS, but making sure that what you do show connects with them.
You need to understand what stage of your business you're at before you can apply the right strategy...
Often the reason Photographers struggle to increase their price is because they've been using the same strategy they used when they first started their business, but it no longer works.

At some point in your Wedding Photography business you're going to realise something... You're worth more than you're currently charging.
Over time, your skillset improves, your work is getting better and better, you offer so much value to your clients... but it feels like your price hasn't caught up yet.
It could be that one day, another photographer asks you how much you're charging, and that little bit of embarrassment starts to show.
You know the price you're going to say is too low... and you've known for a while!
But, we get it! Increasing your price isn't easy, we've been there ourselves.
So, in today's short episode we're going to breakdown the mind shift we made that has helped us increase our prices time and time again without the friction, and without the frustration.
We hope you enjoy this episode, and any questions you have send us an email at hello@zachandgrace.co, we'd love to hear from you!

So many Wedding Photographers find themselves being Ghosted by enquiries, and we're no exception.
In this episode we share the biggest shift you can make to dramatically lower the number of times you get ghosted...
...but we also share the reasons why sometimes getting ghosted is just part of the business, and that's ok.
We break down the biggest causes of ghosting and the actions you can take to bring the chances of it happening right down for the future.
We're also sharing the mindset we've adopted that has helped us learn to live with the ghosting that will inevitably still happen in our business, and why we honestly aren't worried any more.
Plus, we share some examples of how ghosting doesn't have to be the end of the line, and why you should never close the door on your couples.

If there was just one piece of advice we could share for building a successful wedding photography brand in 2025, this would be it.
There's no denying it, the wedding photography market is crowded... but that doesn't mean there's not enough clients for all of us.
Photographers aren't struggling to get enquiries and bookings because there's 'not enough couples getting married', it's simply because they aren't getting clear on who those couples are who they're actually perfect for.
Figure out who those couples are that you'll be the perfect wedding photographer for, and you can then refine your brand specifically for them.
There's tens of thousands of couples out there looking for their photographer, how can you show them they've finally found the right photographer?
We hope you enjoy this episode, and any questions you have feel free to email us at hello@zachandgrace.co
