This episode was sparked by a conversation with a friend, and it just lit a fire in me. We started talking about how little we were taught about our bodies growing up, especially in the context of pleasure. I’m a child of the ’70s, so you can imagine what sex ed looked like back then (and honestly, not much has changed). It was all about avoiding pregnancy and STIs, with barely a whisper about female anatomy, consent, pleasure & orgasms. And that silence? It's by design.   We live in a culture that benefits from women not knowing the power of their own bodies. And when we don’t fully understand how our pleasure works, or even that we deserve it, it plays into broader patterns of disempowerment. Whether it’s in our sex lives, our careers, or even in medical appointments where we’re too often gaslit out of our experience. This lack of education both disadvantages and hurts us.   So today, I open up about my own journey with pleasure (including learning about clitoral orgasms  from an old Cosmopolitan magazine sealed section!) and share stories that might sound a little too familiar.
