“What Gives Him the Right?” President Trump has temporarily federalized the Washington DC police and sent in ICE agents and National Guard troops to “pursue and arrest every violent criminal in the district who breaks the law, undermines public safety and endangers law-abiding Americans,” according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. The move was welcomed by the DC police union chief who said that the union “supports the President’s announcement this morning to assume temporary control of the MPD in response to the escalating crime crisis in Washington, DC.” However, Mayor Muriel Bowser made this cryptic statement: "unsettling and unprecedented." How else could you stop it? “ Had they not dropped the bomb, the fire raids would’ve continued, but not three or four times a week, every single day, from Okinawa. And not with 1,000-2,000 heavy bombers, but with an envisioned 5,000-6,000. That led Curtis LeMay to say, "The bomb wasn’t necessary. We could have burned Japan to the ground and forced its surrender." Much more people would’ve died had that entailed. And so, what did the bomb do? Free Speech and Free Association are the essence of the United States, and both fell under the jackboots of politically weaponized “wokeness” here in Virginia when a realtor decided he wanted to run for city council of Staunton. What happened next reads like the script for a Daniel Craig movie as agents for his opponents found a social media post from years before in which he reposted a Biblical passage, Leviticus 20:13, that had been shared with him by Franklin Graham.  Not only was the passage used to rally opposition to his run for public office, after that election was completed they shared the passage with his business association, the National Association of Realtors in an effort to have him expelled from the organization and prohibiting him access to the real estate listings he would use to help his clients find a home. Two weeks ago the National and Virginia Association of Realtors reversed their original determination against Mr. Fauber and changed their code of ethics to only regulate speech used during a realtor conducting of real estate business. Then, on Tuesday HJuly 29th Mr Fauber’s legal team from the Founding Freedoms Law Center, a division of Virginia’s Family Foundation, announced that the Department of Justice had opened an investigation into the Conduct of both organizations. And he has been under threat of being fired. He does not want to show that he's going to back down and lose the independence of the Fed to the president. Wednesday morning Alana Goodman of the Washington Free Beacon reported that a gentleman named Pin Ni, who is a US-based executive with luxury electric car maker KARMA Automotive gave $50,000 over two contributions to the gubernatorial campaign of former CIA officer Abigail Spanberger. Ni, more troubling, listed as a member of the Chinese Communist Party.  US Election law prohibits campaign contributions from foreign nationals, and the Chinese government insists that you renounce your Citizenship in order to qualify for US dual citizenship. So, one or the other must be true. For Spanberger, a big contribution from an Electric Vehicle manufacturer that would certainly have an interest in making sure that the Virginia Clean Economy Act doesn’t get change or go away is problematic. Doubly ironic given the amount of angst that was expressed by the Democratic party leadership in 2021 about Glenn Youngkin’s extensive business ties having been CEO of the Carlyse Group before being elected Governor. However, that isn’t nearly the crime that accepting a political donation from a foreign national would be. The Beacon story says that Ni sits on the board of directors for the Wanxiang Group, which he founded in 1994. The company’s 2025 annual report says that Ni had "been recognized" as an "Outstanding Communist Party Member of the Group" 15 times. Spanberger needs to address this but without any debates scheduled, Earle-Sears may not get a direct chance so it’s up to the Virginia press corps. Before the story came out the Daily Signal spoke with Republican Party of Virginia Chair, State Senator Mark Peake about President Trump’s statements regarding endorsing Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears in her race against Spanberger and her unwillingness to debate and that is the podcast you are about to listen to.
