Happy Thanksgiving! This week Jamie and Eric begin the conversation about bias and how it doesn't mean what many people think it means. Also, we'll talk about why it's so easy to judge people for making mistakes, and so easy to point the finger somewhere else when we make mistakes.

Many people around the country, no matter what political party are saying something like, "How Could Half Of The Country Vote For THAT Guy?" Let's work through that. We started this podcast with the intention of being candid and authentic, and we are going to hold true to that. We took the last couple of weeks off (unplanned) because things have been really heavy for us. This week, we talk through and walk through the anxiety, the judgement and the understanding that we have been dealing with these past few weeks. So, we were on a break.

Did you know that starting this week, and for the rest of the year, women work for free? Did you know that children are Insignificant? And that we (as parents) often reinforce that insignificance? This is possibly the most important episode of our podcast so far. Jamie and I talk about pay equity, apathy, insignificance, and acting out. Oh, and one of us vulnerably admits that they are a know-it-all... and what the honest impact of that can be on the people around us. (hint: it's me) Check out Episode 9.

Did you know that what you say (Content) matters less than how you say it (Context)? This week, Jamie and I dive into why context matters in all aspects of communication - AND WEALTH. "Change your context, change your outcomes."

What would you think or feel- no, that's not the right question. What do you imagine that Eric would think or feel if he were on a lake with his family and saw a 50 ft. Yacht named, "White Privilege?" - This actually happened this week on our vacation last week. This week Jamie and Eric continue the conversation about empathy and what it is like being "The Other."

In Episode 6, we begin our multiple-part exploration of Empathy. What is the difference between sympathy and empathy? Why does empathy matter? And What the heck can board games teach us about the phenomenon known as the Empathy Gap!?

In creating this podcast, we committed to being honest and forthcoming with our relationship and the apparent STUPIDITY therein... so as the podcast moved to the third principle "The Desire to Fight to Be Right" - AND we happened to have just gone through "THE ARGUMENT," we had to dive in. This is either podcasting at it's BEST or podcasting at its worst. Let us know in the comments. Oh, and no taking sides... although, we already know whose side you'll be on. But seriously, taking sides and winning isn't the point. The point is leaning in to understand rather than leaning in to be understood.
