The Cotton Club is a monthly podcast hosted by me, Cotton Rohrscheib. I'm a 52 year old entrepreneur w/ ADHD, OCD (and now AARP) that refuses to grow up as I grow old. I have collaborated and invested in hundreds of projects throughout my career in multiple industries such as; technology, healthcare, and agriculture. I also have 25 years experience in the marketing industry as a co-founder of an award-winning advertising agency. I will undoubtedly cover a wide variety of topics on my podcast while sharing some really crazy stories and situations that I've been fortunate to witness firsthand. I also have a book coming out in 2025 titled, "Mistakes were Made"

EP:028 – Rebooting Podcast?

Did you know that The Cotton Club Podcast launched almost 13yrs ago? My actual website and blog ebsite launched in 2000, so yeah I’m pretty old and I’ve been a nerd for a long time! Back in the day we discussed a lot of startups like twitter, Netflix, etc. and in a lot of cases, we predicted how long it would be until they met their demise… it’s actually pretty funny to go back and listen to those old shows –but there’s no need, The Cotton Club 2.0 will be launching very soon!

EP:027 – The Cotton Club Podcast
It felt really weird dusting off the microphone this evening to do a podcast, it’s been a long time since I’ve done one of these (April 2013), so I’m a little rusty, and let me apologize in advance for the quality, apparently I should have mic’d everyone instead of using a table mic that we shared, it will be better next time I promise.
I’ve actually been wanting to do this show w/ Dr. Amy from Hippocrates Health for a few weeks now to discuss my Medical Makeover that we are doing. I’m learning a lot, and changing quiet a few things. I figure that I’m not the only guy out there that suffers from being over 40, overweight, out of shape, etc., so hopefully this show, and future ones that we will be doing, will help educate and motivate a lot of you to become healthier, happier people. I’m technically only a week into this thing but I’m already noticing a lot of change already, I know that sounds crazy but I’m honestly seeing some change in the right direction for once, and barring no setbacks this should continue! Being the transparent dude that I am I’m looking forward to sharing this journey w/ any of you that might be interested.
In this episode we talk about Hippocrates Health, she has 3 locations now, and exactly what concierge medicine is. We also cover the results from my recent lab work (or at least the results that we have now), diabetes, low testosterone, and of course my diet and exercise. We didn’t really get a chance to dive into a lot of specifics but we will be in future episodes so be sure to keep checking back for updates!

EP:026 – The Cotton Club Podcast
In episode 26 of The Cotton Club Podcast with Brant Collins & Keith Crawford we discuss the events of the recent week including the Boston Marathon Bombing, the American Airlines Computer Outage, the Ricin laced letters mailed to the White House, and most recently the fertilizer plant explosion near Waco, Texas. I think a lot of people were surprised at our last episode and the noticeable turn concerning our subject matter, we’ve all gotten several calls from friends and closet preppers -or at least I know that I have. Also in this episode Keith mentions CISPA and how we should all contact our representatives and have them stand up for our internet privacy.
One of the topics we also discussed was my newest hobby of storm chasing and the guys asked me to share how anyone interested in getting their storm spotter certification can get hooked up so here’s the link. Just another heads up, it looks like storms are brewing so we might be heading out this afternoon. If severe weather does hit central Arkansas be sure to tune into the Central Arkansas Radio Emergency Network and also hear our updates from the Hail’s Angels: Central Arkansas Tail Chasers on KFFB FM106.1. You can also follow us on Twitter this evening as well as everyone else that’s out and about under the #ARWX twitter feed…

EP:025 – The Cotton Club Podcast
As I mentioned the other night, The Cotton Club Podcast is back online after an almost 2 year hiatus. Last night my good friends Brant Collins and Keith Crawford joined me on the show to discuss a wide variety of topics that will probably surprise a lot of you. Be forewarned, the new shows are going to be a huge departure from what you might remember, I think that’s partly due to the fact that the things we used to evangelize two years ago like social media and mobile applications have pretty much done what we said they were going to do, and that’s become a part of our everyday lives.
If there’s one thing the world needs fewer of, it’s social media gurus, so Keith, Brant, and I donned our tin-foil hats last night and had a great time discussing some awesome new topics like natural disasters, the flow of information through various social channels, our responsibilities as contributors, preparedness, sustainability, other modes of communication like ham radios, etc. We also covered some areas like the economy, the situation in N. Korea, the Mayflower Oil Spill, the accident at Arkansas Nuclear One, and even the Military Helicopter that clipped a power line north of Clinton that knocked power out for a large chunk of North Central Arkansas.
Don’t worry, being the nerds that we are, we keep our fingers on the pulse of technology so we did get around to mentioning a few apps that you might want to checkout and also offered up some helpful tips related to preparedness that you might not have given very much thought to. Hope you enjoy the show, sorry if it’s not edited as perfectly as past episodes, it’s been 2 years, what did you expect?? We will get back on our game!!
Oh, and by the way… Keith gets the “tweet of the night award” for this one:

EP:024 – The Cotton Club Podcast
After a brief hiatus The Cotton Club was back online this evening w/ Keith Crawford, Tyler Presley, Steven Trotter, Chris Spencer, and Mike Fraietta to discuss Google+. Being that Google+ is fairly new, this was the first chance for me to really connect w/ some of my friends to get their take on the new product. It was also very cool to have Mike Fraietta on the show this evening, he is the enterprise community manager at NewsCorp, you may have heard of them before… Fox News, Wall Street Journal, etc. Anyway, having Mike on the show was great, his input was awesome!
A few days ago I blogged about my first impression of Google+ after having used the product for a few days. I still think the future is very bright for this product if Google stays on track w/ what they have going right now. During the show we each shared some of the things that we liked and disliked about the network as well as some thoughts as to how we envisioned various aspects evolving over time…
This was a fun show, definitely great getting the gang together again to talk tech! I promise not to neglect the podcast and will be sure to post new shows from time to time, and thanks to the handful of you who have stayed on me to bring the show back!
