SET 2 - Mediterranean music
Music by the Corsican vocal ensemble, A Filetta; two singer-songwriters from Palestine, Sana Moussa and Haya Zaatry; and The Gurdjieff Ensemble playing the music of Armenia’s renowned composer Komitas.
SET 3 - New African music
The new album by Mali’s Ballaké Sissoko & France’s Vincent Segal called “Musique de Nuit”. Daby Touré’s new record “Amonafi”. Ghana’s marimba player SK Kakraba and his new album “Songs of Paapieye”, and Mali’s legendary super band “Les Ambassadeurs”.
SET 4 - New Afro-Latin Music
For the final set of today’s program we’ll be hearing new music from Cuban violinist Darien Santamaria’s new album “Belleza”. And to cap the set and the show, Eddie Palmieri and Chucho Valdés, appearing on Tuesday, October 20th at Disney Hall in Los Angeles.
