After a brief stint in teaching he started his career in local newspapers in the UK before moving into TV journalism with London Weekend Television. He then went to work at Al Jazeera’s new English website in Qatar. Upon his return to the UK a few years later he became head of news at Islam Channel between 2005-2007. He then moved onto Press TV where he was head of news in London for five years. You may have also seen his work at 5Pillars where he is the managing Editor for the British Muslims News Service.

He also has a Masters in classical Arabic and is a PhD candidate in Islamic Studies at Charles Sturt University. Released November 2020.   𝑲𝒂𝒎𝒓𝒂𝒏 𝑲𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒅 - Lawyer, sessional academic and Executive Member of Muslim Legal Network (NSW). His thesis is on Pakistan’s Counterterrorism framework. The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) recognises a person as experiencing homelessness if they are living in a dwelling that is inadequate; has no tenure, or if their initial tenure is short and not extendable; or does not allow them to have control of, and access to space for social relations.
