Activist Ryan Dowling lost his life to Ryan Carson in New York City, and the political right jumped in with obvious political hypocrisy to use this tragedy to forward their false narrative about crime statistics in New York City. At that time, murd*r rate in NYC was down 11% from last year, and overall crime was down 5%.
