#40 Therapy vs. Coaching-- What are the differences?

In this solo episode we talk about the major differences in therapy vs. coaching. Therapist and coaches tend to have a low key battle and I bring an important point up.....what if we can all just work together? I talk about the importance of staying within your scope staying in your own lane! We talk about how therapy includes red tape, ethics, and is a regulated field. We talk about what issues might be covered in therapy versus coaching. I also discuss how therapy isn't always for everyone and how it's not the end all be all in healing. I also chat about the ego trip sometimes therapists go on because we are so valued in society...and mental health is becoming more "mainstream."

I'm both a therapist and a coach and talk about the different approaches I take to both healing modalities. Thanks for being here!

#34 Manifesting with Queer Relationship Coach: Lily Celeste

Join us for this in depth conversation all about manifesting with queer relationship coach, Lily Celeste. Lily has been a coach for several years and is passionate about simplifying what manifestation is and what it isn't. We talk about how Lily manifested her dream partner, dream vacation, and dream career. We also discuss the importance of the harmful narratives involved in the manifesting world that perpetuates ableism and doesn't take into account systemic racism/sexism/homophobia etc. Lily shares that manifesting happens all of the time "whether we are conscious of it or not," so we can take the pressure off! We don't always need to be creating vision boards and writing down affirmations to dream the life we desire. Join us for this very down to earth conversation that I very much enjoyed!

#31 Collective May Tarot Reading-- In what ways are we committed to our own suffering?

It's a new month and a lot is being illuminated for us in May. I start the reading with The High Priestess who is bringing forward a message we weren't expecting. This month is all about closing the doors that no longer serve us and recognizing in what ways we contribute to our own suffering. It's The Tower energy without being fully tower energy....you'll understand more in the podcast. I also discuss hyperindependence and how finding community is really important for our mental health this month. Meet the friend, slide in their DMs, or begin that creative project in your community. Happy May!

#30 Feminine and Masculine in Spirituality: Is this language ACTUALLY helpful or causing more harm?

In this episode I chat with Aimie Duggan (she/her) all about our issues with the "feminine and masculine" language we often see in spirituality. Aimie is a coach and mystic who specializes in inclusive, decolonized wellness and spiritual care. Her approach is a "no BS spirituality," which I really resonate with. In this episode we chat about both of our understandings of what feminine and masculine energies are. We also discuss how this language can perpetuate harm to marginalized groups, such as the LGBTQ+ community. Aimie and I chat about how we don't have all the answers to how to approach this language, but that we know it doesn't resonate for us. There is an undeniable similarity between the patriarchal, sexist binaries used to harm people and what "feminine and masculine" means in spirituality. We discuss how spiritual practitioners can still work with these "energies" without perpetuating the harmful binaries. This conversation is something I've been wanting to talk about for awhile and I'm so happy I was able to do it with Aimie.
