The Circle of Influence
Dallas and Chase Saxton
Dallas and Chase Saxton are brothers that I knew back in High School. I have admired how they have kept a tight family circle and also had the mentality of surrounding themselves with winning people.  Dallas is an Educator, coach, and motivator. He is passionate about bettering the lives of those he teaches. Through his experiences as an educator he’s seen the impact that a good example can have. He believes that every student deserves a teacher who cares. He love sports, teaching, and (as a fun fact) loves teriyaki chicken. While gaining full-time work experience, Chase was also a full-time college student and started a web design and marketing agency called Develop Bright, where he employed a team of international developers. He’s also since consulted companies on how to scale using offshore resources. Chase has also worked with a number of companies on digital marketing, some of whom include the Warner Music Group, Ragnar Relay Races, and Chick-fil-A.  One thing that Chase said was “When you’re successful in life, its your job to send the elevator back down.” The point that I got out of this was there are different levels of success, and you need to be able to be humble enough to send the elevator back down so that you can help elevate those around you. Sometimes “success” isn’t reached, because it’s not a destination. But it’s nice to know that you can find success in the journey. My personal definition of a successful person is if they know where they are, where they are going and that they are progressively moving in that direction. There are days when I’m not successful. But by this definition, if I am constantly moving in the direction of my goals, then I am successful. I also liked how Dallas would prefer a kid who is a 1 star athlete with a 4 star attitude than an 4 star athlete with a 1 star attitude. I would reiterate the fact that having a 4 start attitude as a 1 star person allows you to be coach-able. It’s ok to work for something and be able to the coached, than think you can do it all and not be coached. It’s also ok to struggle. It allows you to grow! Just remember that you need to demand of yourself improvement and be willing to be coached. You can reach Dallas on Twitter  @CoachSaxton  You can reach Chase best at his website www.chasesaxton.com

I talk about one of the most important things I've learned so far during my journey in finding my Circle of Influence. Service. Why is service important? Who does it effect? Why is it like peeing your pants? Send me a message in the Anchor App! I'd love to hear your feedback!
