There are so many things out of our control, and our natural response is to think about those things a lot we cant help it. Not only do we think about the things in our lives that we can’t control, but we also worry when things in our lives don’t go the way we expect them to. But the word tells us to worry less and pray about it, lets make it a natural habit that when are faced with situations that trouble our hearts and make us anxious we should take it to the Lord through prayer. At the end of the day we cant change our situations but God can, so just breathe, pray and trust that God will take care of it.
Culture has created a belief that as a teenager you can love Jesus and not act like it. Following Jesus changes everything about life, and true spirituality makes us weird to the world. We stand out from our peers. We lose friends. We have crucified coolness and we will never be popular. We have to understand as teenagers is that being a follower of Christ is not something you get to turn off everyday and only turn back on a Sunday , it's an everyday thing, it's a lifestyle; a commitment. To daily take up a cross means requires a selfless life of service. Following Jesus requires living each day as He lived, giving into God every day, offering a daily sacrifice to do His will. This does not imply a life of poverty and problems. It doesn't mean that dreams cannot come true, or that one will be left alone and abandoned. God promises health and prosperity, and has adventures in store for those who commit their hearts and lives to Him. You can't serve two masters at the same time, you can't serve the flesh and God at the same time it doesn't work like that. The culture we a growing up in wants us to believe that it's okay to satisfy your flesh and still be in the right standing with God but that's not true. The bible instructs us on how we are supposed to live as sons and daughters of The Most High.
If you have fallen short of the mark and sinned it's not too late to turn to God in fact Luke 5:32 says l have not come to get those who think they are right with God to follow me. l have come to get sinners to turn away from their sins. Jesus came just for you and me and no matter how deep your sin is His grace is deeper so don't let the enemy lie to you that you can't be saved because the King of Kings came from Heaven so that He can save you
Sometimes it's very difficult to be consistent in serving the Lord and seeking His face, firstly we have to understand that it is normal to have a phase in your life were you are not consistent. The key to always be consistent is staying connected with our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ and how do we do this? We stay connected to Him by being in daily communication with Him through prayer and reading the word. The strength of waking up everyday and carrying your cross will come from Him because if we try and run on our own fuel it will definitely run out. The other thing is we should be on this journey of serving the Kingdom of God for the right reasons, when we serve God everyday for who He is and what He has done for us on the cross we will be motivated to wake up everyday and serve Him no matter what but if we are expecting a transnational relationship were if He gives me that and this then l will serve Him it wont work because in a season were God does not give us all we ask for we will no longer be consistent in serving Him because we based our whole relationship with Him as You give me this and l serve you faithfully but it shouldn't be like that. So lets stay connected to the Him and trusting that He will see us through.
