Attorney and author Dennis Brennan joined me today to explore the unexpected parallels between Donald Trump and Aaron Burr. It turned out to be a perfect conversation to have on “No Kings” day. His latest book, “D.C. Swamp Strikes Back: Aaron Burr, Donald Trump and Their Similar Battles: Victims Separated by Centuries: Bound by Opponents' Hatred” sounds like a great read.

Just because I'm leaning right lately doesn't mean I'm done talking with Democrats. No one wins when we stop talking to people we don't agree with 100%. In that spirit, I hope you enjoy the latest episode of my podcast. My guest was a Democrat, but he is definitely reasonable, intelligent, and talented. It was great to get to know him a little and chop it up, albeit briefly, about important current events. Who knows, maybe he’ll be the next governor of California.

The thing is, I discovered that I agree with many MAGA policies, and I no longer feel the need to be shy about it.
That said, I’m still getting my bearings as a first-time Republican voter.

I don't know about you, but I'm having a hard time thinking about anything else except the assassination of Charlie Kirk. I'm really disturbed and distracted. Nonetheless, my dear friend from X Scott Bell, who used to regularly join me as a guest on Searching for Political Identity, joined me on Thursday night for the first time on The Brian Eskow Show. It was a pretty fascinating conversation about the economic undercurrents that dictate geopolitics. Let's just say it helped me view Trump, MAGA, Putin, and Europe in a whole new light. Of course, I don't know for sure if Scott's theory is correct, but there's no doubt that he sounds like he knows what he's talking about. I hope you enjoy the conversation, and that it takes your mind off the horrors of September 10th for a few minutes.

It turns out, I'm not ready to let go of this platform. In this episode, I discussed my goals for season 2 as well as lessons I learned from a rabbi this week, South Park, the Epstein Files, and "Obama-gate".
It occurred to me last night that I never did an official last episode of Searching for Political Identity. That didn't seem right, so I recorded one this morning. Here it is. It’s not the best video I've ever made, but I think I was as honest and reflective as it is possible to be at 6am.
Ryan Mullally and I have a few things in common.We both went to law school as adults, we both detest critical race theory, and we both feel that the Democratic Party no longer represents us.One of the differences we have is that I voted for Trump in November, while he did not — even though he ruled out voting for Harris before he ruled out voting for Trump.Another difference is that while I spend the majority of my free time watching movies and kissing my dog, he spends what little free time he has fiercely defending the application of neutral Constitutional principles in law through his writing and podcast appearances.We had a terrific conversation about the political realignment that is occurring in America and touched upon all the relevant current events of the last few years.Unfortunately, we recorded this three days before the Trump/Boasbert/Roberts drama unfolded. It’s too bad because I would have loved to ask him about it. Nonetheless, I found his perspective on everything we talked about sobering and helpful. I’m going to need people like Ryan to keep me honest as I continue to navigate being a defender of The Constitution and a highly politicized new Trump supporter.
