The Brandon Peters Show
he Summer of 2015 at 10 with Scott Mendelson & Aaron Neuwirth: August 21-23, 2015

The Summer of 2015 at 10 is a weekly retrospective journey through American pop culture during May, June, July and August of 2015. Brandon Peters, Puck News and The Outside Scoop’s Scott Mendelson and We Live Entertainment/2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla/Out Now with Aaron and Abe’s Aaron Neuwirth take a weekend by weekend look at the films released during the summer as well as the news stories, television and music that rounded out the public’s lives as they lined the pockets of the box office to see these movies.

August 21-23, 2015: The penultimate week here on The Summer of 2015 at 10 movie discussion and it’s a pretty tough one to get through. It starts fine with She’s Funny That Way, but boy is it the polar opposite when we get to Hitman: Agent 47 at the end. Bear with us, and to those of you who watch along with us – WE FEEL YOU!

We’ll also be discussing the box office report, notable news stories, the top 10 Nielsen rated tv programs for the week and the top 10 of Ryan Seacrest’s weekly American top 40 from the week these films were released.

Summer of 2015 at 10: “Drag Me Down” by One Direction with Jessica Alsman

The Summer of 2015 at 10 Music Video Companion series will post every Friday, featuring a discussion of a music video from a song featured in the Ryan Seacrest American Top 40.

One Direction was a boy band sensation that passed me by and I was never fully familiar. A sign of my age. I am quite familiar with Harry Styles who came from there. I did recognize this song, however, “Drag Me Down”. Jessica Alsman wraps her time on The Summer of 2015 to help fill me in a bit on One Direction and such.

August 14-16, 2015: We are nearing the end and what do ya know? A week where we all enjoyed every single film! Mistress America, People Places Things, Straight Outta Compton and The Man From UNCLE may not be all times or even the best of summer, but hey all were good enough to very good for this to be one of the most pleasant weeks ever in The Summer Of series!

Love it or hate it, Silento’s “Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae)” became an instant wedding reception group dance sensation. However, there is a much crazier and darker turn for this as Kat Fitzpatrick and I were to find out on this installment of the Summer of 2015 at 10 music video companion series.

Tarkovsky’s Tales Part 5: Mirror (1975) with Steven Warren Hill

And we’re back! Tarkovsky’s Tales takes us to a very personal film of his in Mirror. A collection of memories, thoughts, ideas, reckoning and more is on full display as Andrei spills it to us in a surreal, abstract fashion. A highly regarded film, both of us enjoy patches, do our best to decipher things and also discuss why this one can be a tough nut to crack.

Steven Warren Hill once again joins me for this discussion. When this retrospective picks up again in August we’ll be looking at Stalker from 1979.

July 31 – August 2, 2015: As opposed to last week dreading Pixels, we’ve all been chomping at the bit to talk about Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation! There are also some solid picks in this roster from a Jason Segel/Jesse Eisenberg biopic to the Vacation reboot. And, a little bit about Legos!

July 17-19, 2015: This one of the best or most intriguing rosters of the summer with good variety. There’s a nice little Woody Allen oddity, a new take on a classic British icon, a modern rom com and another Marvel family movie.

July 3-5, 2015: It’s the episode you’ve all been waiting for; TERMINATOR GENISYS! Move aside other franchises, this one knows how to handle things! This week also features the banger of a Magic Mike sequel as well as a religious film starring Candace Cameron Bure and a cartel documentary.

We’ll also be discussing the box office report, notable news stories, the top 10 Nielsen rated tv programs for the week and the top 10 of Ryan Seacrest’s weekly American top 40 from the week these films were released.
