What happens when a young man feels the pressure to go multiple rounds — but his body taps out after one? Is it physical? Mental? Or just unrealistic expectations?
This week on The Brain Love Podcast, we’re getting real about male sexual performance, endurance myths, and the psychological impact of not “measuring up” to what culture and partners expect.
Let’s talk biology, ego, stamina — and how to stop letting comparison kill your confidence in the bedroom.

ARE YOU READTY TO TAKE THE COUCH?
Sorry ladies and gents for the late arrival of last week's episode. Today on The Brain Love Podcast, we’re diving into a powerful and often controversial question: Can a woman raise a man? We’re unpacking the difference between raising a boy into a man versus trying to build a man who should already know how to lead himself. Can a mother teach manhood without male figures? Can a woman “fix” a grown man stuck in survival mode?
Let’s talk about the emotional labor, the expectations, and what healthy support really looks like in relationships and parenting.
Tap in and bring your truth — because this episode is gonna challenge some narratives. Join Jawan Strader, the Emmy award winning host of NBC 6's "Voices", author and speaker, Robert Jackson, and me, Dr. Delvena, as we discuss the hard stuff. SEASON 6, EPI 3

NEW EPISODE | The Doctor Who Couldn’t Zip Her Dress: A Breast Cancer Story
This week on The Brain Love Podcast, Dr. Delvena Thomas sits down with a courageous family practice physician, Dr. Michelle Powell, who became the patient. Diagnosed with breast cancer during the pandemic, she opens up about the emotional rollercoaster of treatment—from the strength it took to keep practicing medicine, to the day chemo made her too weak to zip her own dress.
As a psychiatrist, Dr. Thomas was deeply moved by her vulnerability, her resilience, and the raw honesty she brings to this conversation. This isn’t just a story about survival—it’s a story about identity, womanhood, and healing.
“I couldn’t even zip my dress… and I’m a doctor. I help people heal—but I couldn’t help myself.”
Tune in for a powerful blend of medical insight and human connection. We are in season 6, epi #2!

Black men have many challenges, many are unspoken. Many men can go from tears to triumph, if they are willing to heal. Pastor Robinson is on the couch with Dr. Delvena discussing his silence as a child/teen which resulted in anger which included workplace violence, a period of crimes and arrests, including strongarmed robbery, cocaine possession. He is transparent in how he broke the cycle through accountability, healing and redefining his story. In 1998 he experienced an out-of-body experience and gave his life to Christ, while in a jail cell. This is a conversation that is usually unheard. We are talking redemption.
