Dr. Jen Ballentine Evans is a Los Angeles native who graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a BA in Kinesiology in 2002. After a year working in clinical research, she entered Mount St. Mary’s College where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2006. She is proud to be the only board-certified Women’s Health Clinical Specialist (WCS) in Ventura. She has completed the Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training program (CPI) with Body Arts and Science International. Dr. Ballentine Evans specializes in manual therapy for the orthopedic population, pelvic pain, incontinence management, pregnancy, and post-partum dysfunction, and Pilates for rehabilitation. In the last 14 years, she has attended multiple pregnancy, postpartum, Pilates, and pelvic physical therapy continuing education courses. She has been trained in the mobilization of the visceral fascia of the urinary system, gastrointestinal system, and reproductive system of both men and women. She has also been trained in hypopressive (low pressure) exercise. Lastly, Dr. Ballentine Evans enjoys Pilates, hiking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, spinning, and helping patients improve their health and well-being.

Sarah has been a midwife for four years and has worked in the setting of a birth center, hospital and client's homes. Prior to being a midwife Sarah had worked as a Registered Nurse in Intensive Care Units, rehabilitation, and maternity settings for over seventeen years. Sarah welcomed two of her five children at home with midwives and cherishes those experiences. Shortly after her second home birth, she decided to go to school to become a Certified Nurse Midwife. She graduated from Frontier Nursing University in 2018. In her free time she enjoys cooking, baking, knitting, photography, concerts with her husband and trips to the beach. Her five children and her beagle, Lucy, keep her very busy.

i have served the women and families of ventura county, first as a labor/delivery/newborn nurse, then as a certified nurse midwife (cnm), providing full scope women's health care and hospital based delivery since 1985. always looking to deepen my connection with, and better serve not just women, but all people, i expanded my practice and became certified as a sexuality counselor by AASECT (the american society of sex educators, counselors and therapists) in 2005. i treat individuals and couples who experience the myriad challenges and changes related to their sexuality. i believe everyone has the right to a healthy, pleasurable, and safe sexual life, whatever that may look like for them. part of my practice includes evaluating and treating sexual pain issues and with my dual certifications i can not only treat the emotional/psychology/spiritual aspects of sexual pain but can also conduct the physical exam/evaluation piece. i am bilingual in spanish. i served in the peace corps in guatemala from 1998-2000 teaching local families how to plant high nutrient vegetable gardens, how to recognize and prevent diarrhea, dehydration and upper respiratory infections in their children, and taught basic skills to local traditional birth attendants. i spent a month in tibet in 2007 teaching local women basic birthing and life saving skills. and i started a small soap company in 2017, anahata soap works, and make hand crafted soap in small batches, using only ingredients that are healthy and nourishing to your skin, and that you can actually pronounce;-))
