Welcome back to the Bioverse, where we explore the universe through the eyes of medicine!
In today's episode we reflect on the cadaver room, roughly adhering to Gibbs cycle of self-reflection in order to maintain a structure.
An update to the podcast after a long hiatus, welcome back to The Bioverse!
Today's short update episode goes over the minor changes to the format of the podcast: As someone interested in medicine, the podcast will take a more medical biology approach to tailor the podcast to my personal interests - this does not mean the normal un-specific Bioverse episodes will not be uploaded (they will). The second change is the frequency of the podcast, due to the scientific nature of the podcast, I want to ensure my sources are accurate and true, therefore, the frequency of the podcast will be reduced to fortnightly as a minimum in order to accommodate the research time as well as my personal education.

Today we take a journey through the neurodegenerative disease: Alzheimer's. Led by our very own Dr. Tytus Murphy, a former neuroscientific researcher who explored Alzheimer's disease through his career. We explore the clinical presentation of the disease, followed by a brief history where we establish the genetic and environmental risk factors (exploring genes that may cause Alzheimer's and the familial link and risk of development). Ending the episode with a final look at the possible treatments for the disease and answering some questions you've asked. All in today's episode of The Bioverse.

I came across a news article which presented, to me, the concept of menopause being a massive shift for the female body, not just in terms of hormones, but rather, from the brain. Listen today as I explore the basic effects of menopause, dive into how oestrogen affects the brain, and then explore the consequences of this. All in this new episode of The Bioverse!

Join me today as I waffle about an awesome concept within bat biology - Doppler shift compensation. Today I give a short physics lesson and then briefly explore the experiment done and describe the graphs formed from it. All in today's episode of The Bioverse!
