In the 1960s and 1970s he served as a young detective with the Metropolitan Police in London, commonly known as Scotland Yard. He worked the East End of London at the time of the notorious gangsters, the Kray Twins, and assisted in the investigation of murders, armed robbery and other criminal activity.
