Who hasn't heard of The Notebook! I'm a big fan of the movie, and was told repeatedly by everyone on the Internet that the novel is so much better. I respectfully disagree. The movie is a masterpiece and far exceeds the book in character development, depth, and pace. Regardless, the book is a sweet little love story and this episode features some of it. I hope you enjoy listening to it.
This episode features a reading from Janice P Nimura's fascinating book Daughters of the Samurai. It's a book that chronicles the lives of five young girls who were sent by the Japanese government to the United States to learn the customs of the Americans and come back to Japan to teach them to local society. Thanks for listening!
This episode features the start of Nadeem Aslam's acclaimed novel Maps for Lost Lovers. It's a tale of a small Muslim community in England where two lovers, Jugnu and Chanda, have gone missing. Enjoy!
