The Audacity To Hope

When the topic of the 2024 Election comes up Black women have been bracing for impact. Will we be subjected to hairbrained ideas explaining the results? Or will we be forced to sooth our co-workers as they process the “ish” we already knew; this country is a terrible place for marginalized people, especially Black women.  A study by the University of Colorado estimates a 24% increase in maternal deaths if the United States bans abortion federally. They predicted the increase would be even higher for Black patients, at 39%. While your co-workers look for comfort you remember we are not new to this, we’re true to this. Black women create hope for our communities, and others, when the future looks bleak. Join Asiah (@issaraeof_ny), & Amber (@Not_therealamberworsley )  as we unpack election results with activist Brittany Brathwaite, and discuss what's to come and breathe hope into some scarry results.
