When Black women are healers it’s not only seen as illegitimate but “wicked.” With the rise of social media and “Insta-doctors” sharing information such as herbs, and other medicinal tools, has become rampant. Therefore we re-enter an age where empowered women of color are questioned and feared. This has happened before. In 1962 Tituba Indian, a slave of west Indian descent was accused of witchcraft and set off the Salem witch trials. Italy Bianca, is a self proclaimed medicine “wombman” who through positivity and light aims to help women reach physical and spiritual healing. Join Asiah (@issaraeof_ny), & Amber (@Not_therealamberworsley ) as we unpack modern alternative healing and the history that stigmatizes this work.
