The Audacity To Be Triggered About Sonya

On July 6th, 2024 Sonya Massey called the police to her home in fear of a home intruder. Body cam footage spread all over the internet of her last moments. We watched her call out the true demon in her home, and that principality ended her life and disrespected her body. This word gives us the ick, but here on the Audacity Podcast, we are triggered. Many black women facing racial trauma are living in a prolonged state of PTSD. No matter where we are, our worlds aren’t safe from microaggressions or even physical violence. No matter how safe we try to feel, our bodies keep the “score.” What do we do when we are triggered? With the help of Krystal Miller (@Melanated_Masks), a licensed mental health worker and integrative mental health practitioner,  we will be unpacking just that. Join Asiah (@issaraeof_ny), & Amber (@Not_therealamberworsley ) during this heartfelt conversation about trauma in your body and find a new healing strategy for your life.
