Welcome to the Anti People Pleasing Podcast, I’m your host Jo Westwood the Codependency Coach and after a wee summer hiatus I’m back with a special interview series for you with some of my favourite experts across different areas of coaching and self development that I think you’re going to really love and find super helpful in supporting you with your own holistic healing goals.
This episode features my conversation with July Styles of Sculpt. You can find out more about July and her work here:
July's Online Strength Training Programme - Learn 2 Lift
July is the founder of SCULPT and a coach who’s passionate about helping people build a sustainable, long-term relationship with fitness through semi-private and remote health and fitness programmes. Her approach is compassionate and collaborative—grounded in evidence, backed by science, and always measured with intention.
She believes that fitness should be empowering, realistic, and designed to support your well-being for the long haul, not just a quick fix or purely for the gram.
And right now, as you are listening to this pod fresh in your feed July has her signature strength training programme, Learn 2 Lift, open and on sale. Learn to Lift is 12-week remote programme designed to help you build the solid foundation you need for strength training. The current intake is only open until 8am UK time on 8 September, and after that, the next round won’t be until January 2026—so it’s a rare chance to jump in if you’ve been looking for guidance on how to lift safely, effectively and confidently, over the long term.

After a wee summer hiatus I’m back with a special interview series for you with some of my favourite experts across different areas of coaching and self development that I think you’re going to really love and find super helpful in supporting you with your own holistic healing goals.
This episode feature my awesome mate Jools O'Sullivan of Life & Fork Nutrition. You can find Jools here:
Juliet O’Sullivan, known as our Jools, is the founder of Life & Fork Nutrition. With over 15 years’ experience as a nutritionist and as a busy mum of three, she’s passionate about helping women cut through diet culture and find sustainable, enjoyable ways to reach their health goals. Jools focuses on reclaiming food as something positive—making the journey as rewarding as the destination, even amidst the chaos of everyday life.
We talked about how all the ways that we overgive, people please, self sacrifice and self punish shows up in the ways we eat - or don’t eat - and how we take care of our bodies day to day. Jools also dropped an absolutely golden nugget about perfectionism that blew my mind!
If you find yourself de-prioritising joy, fulfilment, nourishment and self care because of obligations to other people, or because you think it’s not worth taking good care of lil old you, then you need to listen to this episode.

We’re kicking off this special summer series with one of my absolute faves, Kirsty Mulcahy

Kirsty is a sober curious life coach and sobriety mentor, and the founder of SkyRose Coaching. A space for those who are ready to rewrite their relationship with alcohol, reconnect with themselves, and build lives full of freedom, self-trust, and joy.
After finding her own path to sobriety over seven years ago, she went on to create SoberBuzz, a thriving community that champions sober and sober-curious living. Through her 1:1 coaching, digital tools, and her signature Self Love Club, Kirsty helps people explore personal growth, boundaries, and self-worth all without shame and with empowerment.
Her approach is straight-talking, compassionate, and always sprinkled with a bit of cheeky humour. When she’s not coaching, you’ll find her sea swimming at sunrise in Portobello Edinburgh, blasting techno, or journaling under the moon.

Today we're digging into the true financial cost of codependency - spoiler alert: it's huge. It can hit us from all kinds of unexpected angles and its way more common than you might. We're always talking about the relational and emotional cost of codependency, but it's time to talk cold hard cash - because in codependency, we're losing it, frittering it away, leaving it on the table and having it taken from us, left right and centre.

If you've been using ChatGPT - or any other AI tool as your therapist - you need to listen to this. It's something I'm hearing increasingly in my practice - clients running scenarios, even text messages and emails through ChatGPT and asking for advice and therapy or coaching like feedback on how they should feel, and what they should do next in their relationships. It seems like a smart life hack on the surface - quicker, cheaper and more readily accessible than real therapy or coaching. But it might actually be making things worse for you. Tune in for my take on this *very 2025* topic.
