For the 50th Episode of That's Runnable, Tommy speaks to Monty Purcell. His story is one of hope and redemption from the darkest part of his life. It's a surprisingly relatable story of overcoming addiction, experiencing "rock bottom", of facing the truth, having hard conversations, and seeking help. Monty is raising £10K for CALM (the Campaign Against Living Miserably) by running 10km a day until he reaches this fundraising target. He's on a mission to encourage others like him to talk and to let you know that you're not alone.
Thank you to Monty for coming on and sharing your story.
Please show your support by offering whatever you can on his JustGiving page here.
This episode contains discussions around addiction, suicide, and mental health struggles. If these topics have affected you personally, please take care while listening and know that support is out there.

Please remember: you don’t have to go through it alone.
We know how heavy things can get. And we know how hard it can be to open up, especially when your mind tells you it won’t help, or that no one will understand. But speaking to someone, even just one person, can start to lift the weight.
You don’t have to have the right words. You don’t need to explain everything. Just start where you are.
You’re not a burden. You’re not weak. You’re human. And you are worthy of support.
