Tales Beyond the Sunny Side - Episode 10: The Final Serving

This Independence Day marks 60 years of freedom, and I’m taking you back to where the chains began. 

Sixty Years of Independence is a three-part series tracing the shadows before, during, and after Maldives fell into British hands under the protectorate agreement.

In this episode, I present my research on why we began to want more than a crown under someone else’s shadow. 

Maldivian history has primarily been preserved through oral traditions, with limited written documentation available. As a result, some details presented in this episode may not be entirely precise. 

However, I have made every effort to compile and synthesize the information from the sources I was able to access.
