TerreScience | Paul Syltie on Biostimulants and Vitazyme | Episode #24

TerreScience | With Paul Syltie on biostimulants and Vitazyme, improving crop production | Episode #24 A conversation with Dr. Paul Syltie on how Biostimulants, such as Vitazyme work in improving soil health, plant stress tolerance and crop yields. How are biostimulants different from regular fertilizers? We discuss results from some of the research that has been done with Vitazyme. Paul Syltie (Invited speaker, Director of Research, Vital Earth Resources) with Rajnish Khanna (Podcast Host, Founder & CEO, i-Cultiver, Inc.). More information on Paul Syltie: Paul Syltie is a native of southwestern Minnesota, raised on a crop and dairy farm, who pursued an education in soils and crops at the University of Minnesota for a Bachelor’s Degree, and the University of Illinois for a Master’s Degree, which was interrupted by service in the U.S. Army. He received a Ph.D. from North Dakota State University in soil fertility in 1980. His major interests have been in the area of soil fertility as it relates to human and animal health, and as a result moved into studies on bio-stimulants as they relate to crop yield and quality enhancement and other beneficial effects, first with Appropriate Technology Limited based in Dallas, Texas, and then with Vital Earth Resources based in Gladewater, Texas. As a researcher and consultant with these firms, he has traveled extensively worldwide to promote the use of bio-stimulants for the improvement of agricultural productivity in many nations. He has worked for 43 years with bio-stimulants, and has spent the last 27 years as research director for Vital Earth Resources. In that capacity he has proven the great utility of brassinosteroids and other novel plant growth regulators in improving crops yields and quality, disease resistance, and fertility utilization for a wide variety of crops. He is the author of several books and many scientific and other publications.
