It’s been another long, hot day at Wimbledon with the fans on Centre Court and No. 1 Court. Join Joel and Kim as they discuss Sinner opening with some serious serving stats whilst Draper made light work of Baez who still hasn’t won a tour level grass match since Eastbourne 2023. They also get to the bottom of the beef that broke Round 1 between Fritz and Perricard and just why their match was stopped last night and whether that was the right decision. However the seed exodus continued with last year’s semifinalist Lorenzo Musetti and Halle champ Alexander Bublik suffering surprise defeats along with Alexander Zverev whose poor showings at Wimbledon continues.
On the women’s side, French Open champion Coco Gauff suffered another early exit at the hands of dangerous Dayan Yastremska. Defending champion Barbora Krejickova overcame a slow start against up and coming Alexandra Eala in three sets but two-time former champion Petra Kvitova made her final Wimbledon bow in defeat to Emma Navarro. It wasn’t all smooth sailing for the Americans as recent Bad Homburg champion (and avid Call of Duty gamer) Jessica Pegula was dismissed along with Queen’s semi finalist Qinwen Zheng. They also unveil the gang’s Collect a Set predictions for the tournament and look ahead to Day 3 with Carlos Alcaraz returning against Britain’s newest surprise package Oliver Tarvet.

Feeling hot, hot, hot! Wimbledon Day 1 is in the books, so why not join Joel and Chris at Tennis Weekly HQ to catch up on all the action from an enthralling opening day’s play. Carlos Alcaraz had everyone sweating — and not just because of the weather — as he battled through a scratchy five-set win over Italian veteran Fabio Fognini, who hadn’t won on the ATP Tour since October.
The Brits also had a ball on Day 1, with a record seven players already through to Round 2. This included the top three British women — Raducanu, Boulter, and Kartal — with Boulter and Kartal both upsetting higher-seeded opponents in Badosa and former Grand Slam champion Ostapenko. The fairytale run of Oliver Tarvet continued too, as he set up a blockbuster Round 2 clash with Alcaraz — though he won’t be able to keep any of his prize money.
There were sad scenes as former finalist Ons Jabeur retired, announcing she would ‘disconnect’ from tennis for now. Two-time semifinalist and recent Halle finalist Daniil Medvedev also bowed out unexpectedly. Meanwhile, Sabalenka and Gauff put their recent animosity behind them… with a TikTok dance. Wimbledon! The Championships are upon once again with a lot to live up to after THAT dramatic finale at Roland Garros. Join the gang at Tennis Weekly HQ as they react to the men's and women's draws, dish out some dodgy predictions and unveil Collect a Set player picks. On the men's side, the question on everyone's lips might be will we get another edition of the Carlos Alcaraz - Jannik Sinner rivalry? Joel's not so sure and whilst Carlitos has been handed a pretty routine draw on paper, Jannik Sinner got some trick battles including a potential all Italian quarterfinal with Lorenzo Musetti, last year's semifinalist. Great British hope Jack Draper also got dealt a nightmarish draw with both his French Open conqueror Alexander Bublik and Queen's conqueror Jakub Mensik in his section along with Novak Djokovic who has been in the last SIX Wimbledon finals.
On the women's side, can Aryna Sabalenka finally get over the finish line and win a Grand Slam title this season? In her way is a potential R3 showdown with Britain's Emma Raducanu or former champion Market Vondrousova who got the better of her recently in Berlin. French Open champion Coco Gauff also may have hoped for a kinder draw with a tricky opening against Nottingham finalist Yastremska with Rybakina and Swiatek lurking close by. The team also discuss prize money as Britain's Oliver Tarvet will NOT be allowed to claim his prize money of at least £66,000 due to still being in college in America. With Wimbledon one week away, the grass court season is in full flow so join Joel, Kim and Chris at Tennis Weekly HQ as they look back on yet another enthralling week of tennis on the tour. Headlined by the tantalising partnership of Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu, the gang debate just what impact a singles based doubles event will have on the format or whether it’s just one big gimmick. And breathe. One of the GOAT Grand Slam finals of recent times brings the curtains down on another year of Roland Garros. It may even be just one of the best tennis match EVER. It really was that good and all the more reason to join Joel, Kim and Chris who look back on the sheer EPICNESS that was Carlos Alcaraz’s back from the brink victory over Jannik Sinner in the 2025 Roland Garros final, winning 4–6, 6–7(4), 6–4, 7–6(3), 7–6(10–2). In a gruelling five-hour, 29-minute battle—the longest French Open final in history—Alcaraz overturned a two-set deficit and saved multiple championship points in the fourth set before triumphing in a super tiebreak. The win marked Alcaraz’s fifth Grand Slam title and second consecutive Roland Garros crown, maintaining his perfect 5–0 record in major finals. The match further fueled the growing rivalry between Alcaraz and Sinner, symbolizing an emerging new era in men's tennis following the reign of the Big 3.
The gang look back on the key factors playing a part in the final, what this means for Wimbledon plus the rest of the year, and compare Sinner’s reaction in defeat to that of Aryna Sabalenka from Saturday’s ladies singles final. Goodness gracious Gauff! The American has won her first ever Roland Garros title and second overall Grand Slam singles crown with a Parisian rollercoaster of a victory against the World Number 1 Aryna Sabalenka. Join Joel and Chris at Tennis Weekly HQ as they reflect on the final in Paris and begin to unpack where the battle was won and lost. The duo talk about those *70* unforced errors that came off the Belarusian’s racket and what makes the Gauff match up such a tricky test for her. The return of SINCARAZ! Yes please. Join Joel, Kim and Chris who are back once again at Tennis weekly HQ to round up the semifinals action from Roland Garros 2025. Jannik Sinner was comfortable enough over Novak Djokovic with a clinical straight-sets victory (6-4, 7-5, 7-6), ending the Djokovic bid for a 25th Grand Slam title. With this win, Sinner reaches his first Roland Garros final, where he will face Carlos Alcaraz in a highly anticipated clash of the world’s top two ranked players. Alcaraz came through thanks to a retirement from Lorenzo Musetti earlier in the day; a disappointing end to a fantastic clay season for the young Italian. Which the lead the gang to wonder should he have retired or just completed the match?
Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka ended Iga Swiatek’s reign in Paris with a stunning three-set upset, capped by a dominant 6-0 third set. Swiatek, the four-time Roland Garros champion, couldn’t match Sabalenka’s relentless aggression as the Belarusian powered her way into the final. Coco Gauff also ended French wildcard Lois Boisson’s Cinderella story with a commanding straight-sets win. Gauff's precision and power proved too much for the hometown favourite, and Coco will bid to win her second slam against the World No.1 on Saturday!

Football meets Tennis as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) celebrate their Champions League Triumph at Roland-Garros as Ousmane Dembélé brings the cup to Philippe-Chatrier and Alina has a front row seat to see all the action....on the big screen. Someone who didn't even have that luxury was Novak Djokovic who was playing the Night Session match at the same time the football was on, meaning he head loud cheers every time Paris had scored and he couldn't believe they had scored 5 times against Inter to win.

Brits, over and out. It’s been another thrilling last couple of days at Roland Garros so why not join Joel and Kim as they take stock on all the Round 4 action in Paris. Jack Draper fell to a red-hot drop shotting maestro Alexander Bublik to bring his campaign to an abrupt end whilst Cam Norrie failed to match his Geneva performance with a straight sets defeat to Novak Djokovic who won his 100th (!) singles match at the French Open.
Elsewhere, Iga Swiatek brought herself back from the brink with a hard thought three set win over Elenea Rybakina. Does it prove she is still the Queen of Clay or are there bigger tests to come? And in one of the stories so far, French wildcard No. 361 ranked Lois Boisson pulled off a stunning upset over Jessica Pegula to book her spot in the quarterfinals versus Mirra Andreeva. Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka also cruised through once again without dropping a set. Joel and Kim also give a midway Collect a Set update and it’s a historic moment but not for the right reasons…

Week 2 at Roland Garros is here, and Tennis Weekly has everything you need to get caught up ahead of the action in Paris. On the men’s side, Jack Draper dismantled rising star João Fonseca to join fellow Brit Cam Norrie against a backdrop of PSG football fireworks in the last 16, while Djokovic, Sinner, and Zverev cruise through — and Carlos Alcaraz survived another mid match hiccup to win through.
In the women’s draw, Elena Rybakina routed Jelena Ostapenko to set up a mouthwatering showdown with Iga Swiatek, and for the first time in decades, all top 8 seeds remain in contention heading into Week 2. It was also a historic occasion for Team USA as they had 8 players into Round 4 of Roland Garros for the first time in forty years. Bonjour from Roland-Garros, well we should say the Jardin du Luxembourg for a special edition of Tennis Weekly Journal as Alina and Chris have ventured into the city and found the local tennis courts. On today's episode they cover the epic match between Gael Monfils and Jack Draper that lit up the Night session and Philippe-Chatrier in one of the matches of the tournament. They debate the French Open crowd, asking if they go too far after they helped a clearly injured Arthur Fils hobble over the line against an increasingly irritated Jaume Munar on Court Suzanne Lenglen. Would he have won without the crowd? Alina doesn't think so and neither does Arthur. As well as the on court action, the Night Session being exclusively reserved for Men's matches has become a hot topic once again. Will there ever be a solution and can a solution be found whilst the Prime tennis contract exists in France? Alina and Chris try to provide some context on the increasingly repetitive and polarising topic as it isn't as simple as scheduling a women's match in the night session slot.

Your third podcast postcard from the Paris at the French Open from Alina and Chris, who covering all the behind the scenes action from Roland-Garros including Coco Gauff forgetting her rackets but remembering her custom New Balance leather jacket for the walk out! They also put questions to Jack Draper and Iga Swiatek with varying degrees of success. Jack won his first match at Roland-Garos and made it clear he has goals much bigger than round 2 at the clay court slam. He will have to tackle home favourite Gael Monfils playing his second Night match in a row.
Novak Djokovic was also in action and there was some serious debate on court about whether to close the roof or not to which he and the crowd said PLEASE close it! Alina and Chris debate how they would feel if they got wet on a court WITH a roof.
Finally Chris asks Iga Swiatek about saving all the break points she faced against Emma Raducanu and Iga well, didn't have an answer and was 'sorry for that' but either way the lesson was learned, don't lead with a statistic!

Drama, delight and double bagels! It can only mean one thing... the French Open Round 1 catch up at Roland Garros with Joel and Kim. It's been a Brit bonanza in Paris, with 6 of 7 sailing into Round 2 – including Emma Raducanu, who now faces defending champ Iga Swiatek in a blockbuster showdown. Cameron Norrie also pulled off the upset of the round, outlasting Medvedev in five, while Jack Draper kept cool to seal a confident 4-set win.

On Day 2 at Roland Garros, Chris and Alina were courtside for Emma Raducanu winning return to Paris as she overcame sickness to beat Wang Xinyu in three sets. She also let it be known that she doesn't agree with the scheduling for practice sessions and would like to practice on bigger courts. That won't be a problem for Emma as in her next round she faces three time defending champion Iga Swiatek. Iga revealed the advice that Rafa gave her when he lost to Novak in 2021 that "it's just tennis" there will be another chance. Novak Djokovic also reveals what Andy Murray said to him in the tunnel during the Rafa celebration after he won title 100 immediately after their split and they touch upon the tricky day at the office Naomi Osaka had before they preview Day 3.

What an emotional first day at Roland Garros as Rafael Nadal said goodbye to the tournament he won 14 times with the help of the Big Four, as Djokovic, Federer and Murray helped honour one of the greatest of all time and there were tears.
Elsewhere at the French Open Iga Swiatek clapped back on media day and proclaimed 'I'm sorry you are not lifted' and tommy told Chris and Alina about his truck being repossessed but now it is back in safe hands where it belongs.
Jannik Sinner gave an update on his relationship status and love of Copenhagen and Alex de Minaur proclaimed Katie Boulter to be the clay court specialist of the relationship.
