Leo Quinn works for Better Place, the world leader in ghost removal, but they’re having some doubts about the ethics of their work. They’re building a device that should let them capture the voices of ghosts, to prove once and for all that Better Place needs to start treating spirits with the humanity they deserve – and to unravel some mysteries in the process. Tell No Tales is a serialised fiction podcast — to hear the story unfold, we recommend starting from S1 E1. Distributed by Twin Strangers Productions

Tell No Tales
Announcement - Delays to S2

A brief hiatus announcement

Transcript:

Hi everyone,

Leanne here with an update on S2’s schedule. Since the mid-season break, our episode uploads have been a bit more erratic than I’d have liked. This has been for a few reasons, the combination of my debut novel launching last month, along with a few difficult situations in my personal life, and some new surprise deadlines that I need to meet in order to keep creating full-time. All of which has taken a harder hit on my health than I was expecting.

So, I’ve decided to place Tell No Tales on a temporary hiatus. Nothing too extreme, you’ll be hearing from us again soon enough, but just long enough to make sure than once we’ve got the ball rolling again, you be able to enjoy the rest of the season with no interruptions.

It’s a tough call, because I am SO excited for the remainder of this season, and I cannot wait for everyone to hear it. Our cast have all completed their performances brilliantly, so these delays are entirely on my end. But in my struggle to edit the audio and the transcripts on time, I’ve felt the quality slipping, which isn’t fair to myself, to our talented cast, or to you as listeners.

I couldn’t have asked for a more lovely group of listeners, and I do want to thank everyone for your patience and understanding this last month or so. I promise the story to come will be worth the wait. Until then, thank you to everyone who has shared kind words and support for this show. It means the world. Thank you for listening. And remember, the dead don’t bite.

Note: This episode is largely about the Eurovision Song Contest, which is currently being boycotted for its refusal to condemn Israel's genocide of Palestinian people, and silencing of those who attempt to speak out. Despite the unforeseen poor timing of this episode, we want to make it clear that we strongly support this boycott. Please see below for the resources mentioned in the disclaimer at the start of this episode:

Bashar Murad is a queer Palestinian singer-songwriter, with music that explores Palestinian resistance, gender noncomfority, and queer love.

Yaffa is a trans Palestinian poet, and executive director of the Muslim Alliance for Sexual and Gender Diversity (MASGD). You can learn more about their work and experience here, and donate to MASGD’s fundraiser for queer and trans Palestiniants here

Verilybitchie’s video essay, The [Queer] Politics of Eurovision, covers Eurovision’s history of pinkwashing or ‘homonationalism’, including - but not exclusive to - its representation of Israel

Tell No Tales
Leo Quinn works for Better Place, the world leader in ghost removal, but they’re having some doubts about the ethics of their work. They’re building a device that should let them capture the voices of ghosts, to prove once and for all that Better Place needs to start treating spirits with the humanity they deserve – and to unravel some mysteries in the process. Tell No Tales is a serialised fiction podcast — to hear the story unfold, we recommend starting from S1 E1. Distributed by Twin Strangers Productions
