In this episode we see some great character development and world building. We see more of how the Fire Nation treats it’s citizens and we see how much Katara cares about doing the right thing for people.
Aang enrolls in a Fire Nation school and learns more about what is being taught to the citizens. We also see Zuko trying to reconnect with his Uncle after his betrayal. And there’s a secret dance party!
Aang is back and we see him have to deal with some pent up issues in this episode. We talk about how the Gaang is adapting to the world thinking the Avatar is dead and Aang coming to terms with that.
In this episode we see the final showdown, and we talk about the impact of Zuko’s decisions. We see an epic battle and experience great loss, but there’s still hope at the end.
In this episode Aang meets Guru Pathik, who teaches him how to master the Avatar State. It also sets all the characters on converging paths moving toward the season finale.
The Gaang is back together with Appa, and they make a raid on the Earth King’s palace. They manage to convince the Earth King that they are on his side and get Long Feng arrested. Meanwhile Zuko is dealing with a spiritual crisis as Iroh helps him through it.
The Gaang searches for Appa and ends up running into Jet along their way. Zuko also finds out that the Avatar is in Ba Sing Se and becomes obsessed with finding him again.
We finally see Appa again and we learn what he has gone through in the time that it takes the Gaang to get to Ba Sing Se and clash with Long Feng. We do talk about a couple spoilers in this episode in our thoughts, and we warn you when we get to them.
In this episode we see the political side of the war and how the Earth Kingdom isn’t necessarily always on the right side. The Gaang has to tread the path of high society, and we see Zuko and Iroh having to tread a new path as refugees.
The Gaang takes down the menacing Fire Nation drill and Sokka comes up with a team nickname. Jet turns against Zuko and Iroh, becoming suspicious of them and starting him on a path of conspiracy and madness.
