We're back with a vengeance. The boys now have SEGMENTS to go through as we bring you our unprofessional commentary on professional sports: News in Golf, Our Game, Tech and Gear, Toplists, and the Tap-in Tracker. We're shipping Rickie Fowler at the Waste Management Open as he makes his way out of the basement of golf rankings to find his first top-10 finish in nearly a decade, and a new Canadian name makes it within 2 of Scottie Scheffler's top spot - we're digging the respect Canadian golfers are starting to get from commentators!
Reunited and it feels so gooooood....
The boys are finally back together and get to do what they love best: golf, then talk about golf. We recap what has happened since Deklan left in the summer time, the wins Ben has racked up, and tournaments we want to play in next season. Listen to our take on how LIV Golf has turned out, and what our plans are for the duo are next year, and how the Graham Avenue Podcast inspired us to keep this pod alive despite Deklan's traitorous move to PG.
The trend of this podcast is that we host people who are better at golf and much better spoken than us - this episode is no different.
What is different is that we have the first golf coach for Caledonia High in over a decade on this episode, David Lewis. He takes us through the experience of starting up the team, gathering support and players, and ultimately sending 5 of Terrace's best young golfers to Provincials. The story sounds awesome and rewarding, and we'll definitely be trying to find a way to support the team in their next season!
Opening week for SVGC came early! This never happens. It's just that it's so hot... Anyway... the northwest's best golf pro and Skeena Valley's super superintendent learn us good with some awesome stories and in-depth knowledge on the projects for this year, how things are maintained, and some history of the course and the people that make it run as smooth as it does.
A great way to finish Season 1 - a great chat with Thanassi Tsardidis. You may remember a reference by the Van Dyk brothers and some comments about his handicap... Well in this episode we get into it and the plot thickens! Barely. The guy's a beauty. Listen to the podcast, stop reading this.
See y'all in the new season!
Long-awaited, often imitated, never replicated, the man of our hearts, James Inkster. We finally got him on the pod. Listen on to our season's penultimate episode on the highs and lows of James's golf career so far, some of the new gear he's got for the season, and other hot takes. We had some technical difficulties, but don't worry - he's coming back in season 2 to give us more gold!
Did our gift list podcasts help with your holiday shopping this year? Probably as much as the new gear will help our game... but despite the tools not being the only thing behind a tradesman's skill, we sure do think it'll be the game-changer this year. Listen to the guys talk about the stuff they got for Christmas and their New Year resolutions. We're taking over-under bets for our handicap hopes.
Have you got all the gifts on your list? What about our list? Check it and see if you completely missed the mark on getting the goods for the golfer in your life. If you are that golfer, what are you doing? Show this podcast to your significant other immediately so you can get that last-minute panic gift that's more than you deserve. Happy holidays, ya filthy animals.
The fellas are back from a brief hiatus and want to supply your loved ones with some ideas for the holidays. This first instalment comes during a round of PGA 2K21 seeing as virtual golf is the only outlet we have now. Please listen to our off-season ramblings, and spoiler: it's just as incoherent as it is during the season.
Forever furious not being the first Tyler Clark(e) on the pod, the local legend himself graces us with his presence and talks about 3 of his freshest sticks in the bag, how he got down to a 16 handicap, and starts the trash talk and head games with Benny during the podcast that is on the eve of the last 9 holes of Match 2.0. Will it be enough to throw Ben and James off their game? Probably not.
It's been a while since we've had a good chat about what we've been up to, so Deklan recaps the golf he got to enjoy on vacation, Benny tells his harrowing tale of missing Day 2 of the Members' Champ, and the gauntlet gets thrown down LIVE by Linkster and Benny. We couldn't end the season without a bang, now could we??
The guys recap several weeks of lots of good golf on the pro level, Ben's career round, and some consistently decent play. As a new segment, we also check in, live, with Germain who has recently committed to #nodaysoff until hunting season to get himself to a point where he can decide to try for the Waste Management's Monday qualifier.
Benny's good buddy from Van Island gives us a recap of some wild, weird, and wonderful times playing and working at some of the great courses around North America. The guy is an absolute beauty and goes low, and deletes beers, and knows how to dial in a green. Take a listen then get out there and tap it in!
Deklan and Ben get taken to school by Professor Germain on a unique pod this week. They want to shape their shots but don't want to work that hard to do it - might seem like a tall task, but Germain was up for it and made some changes to their swings and voila, they can shape their shots on purpose sometimes!
Half of this year's champion team of the SVGC Men's Open, Tyler Gibson, chats with the fellas about his love of golf, his chill attitude but confident competitive side, and hopes and dreams of playing on tour. This absolute beauty's got some cool stories from times in golf from university to caddying in the states so listen in!
The guys recount the good, the bad, and the sweaty of the Men's Open at SVGC, they talk about the skills competition, weather, and some upcoming tournaments and interviews.
