Harry Wise: the man with the most famous hands in slotting.
Harry's Home Racing World site and videos about slot cars and the fun we can have with them are part of a nearly 30 year commitment he's made to bringing the often isolated members of the slot car world together. From pinning notices up in the local grocery store - the 'Amish Internet' - to utilising web forums and social media, Harry's voice has been the friendly invitation to enjoy the hobby for many.

From being snowed in on an Italian mountain - via a kitchen table or two - to seeing a dream come true, this episode is like no other. For one thing there's no rallying. Well, I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it.
Andy Rowland was given a Scalextric Grand Prix set as a child, but unlike the rest of us he turned that fun into a passion for modelling and engineering which eventually brought to us all the range of 1970s F1 cars by Policar.
There's tales of JPS Lotus, Mansell and Senna, Vanwalls and even a Trojan.

Smooth and sexy or bolted and chunky?
Not descriptions of men behind the mics, rather the two body styles available for the new RevoSlot Mazda RX-7s about which we talk in adoring terms.
The real RX-7 had a Wankel engine so who better to chat about it than the man sometimes known as 'Wankel Ickx'.
Old gifts bring a reminder of the joy of printed material and we learn the secret sauce that makes Wankel's tyre truing unique.
So settle back, stroke your Mazda and enjoy the show.

In this episode of old men talking rubbish about toy cars...
Fly announce fire-breathing dragon slot cars. Maybe.
Tuning: the antidote to fun. Is time spent tinkering less fun than time on the track? (Yes).
You wait for thirty years then three Ford Sierras come along at once and we're happy about that.
Enjoy!

Marco Carvalho is well know as the face of Electric Dreams, the world's biggest slot car store. He's interviewed all the key players, but now we turn the spotlight on him to find out about the man behind the (electric) dream.
A racer, builder, but probably more than anything a communicator, we get into his early days racing and building in Brazil, coming to California and having a vision for slot car retailing now being brought to life at Electric Dreams.

All slot car clubs have their own character - and characters. On the south coast of England, in an 18th Century barn, Worthing HO Racing is a club with a difference.
Started in 2010 with local government support, the aim was to involve the surrounding community, initially racing HO cars. Fifteen years later, last month alone, the club welcomed 60 people to its events, many coming for the first time. They still race HO, but also 1/32 digital and the latest addition is slot rally.
What makes the club so successful?
I spoke to co-founder Andy Player to find out.

Slot cars we'd love to have, but that are never going to be made.
We are living through a golden age of new slot car variety and choice, but are there still real life cars which are just too obscure to ever be made as ready-to-run slot car models?
We reveal our Top 3 wishful thinking cars and why we think they are just too oddball to ever justify one of the slot car makers tooling up for production.
Ever the optimists, we also suggest who the best maker would be to make each impossible dream come true. It's the hope that kills you.

We talk about him and his company's products often so it is great to hear from the man himself: Simon Owen, Scalextric Head of Brand.
We might think it is the best job in the slotting world, but does the guy responsible for the Scalextric range agree?
We discuss his work, the origins of his love of cars and what was the reaction internally when he suggested making a Volvo Estate. He'll also share what's caught his eye from other slot car brands recently. You might be surprised.
We even get to hear what are the best selling Scalextric cars for 2025 so far.

Most of us are daunted by just the thought of doing a 24 hour slot car race, so imagine having to commentate on one, live, broadcast to the world.
Ian & Doug, otherwise known as Magnetic Racing and Think Scalextric Events, added the 24 hour stint to their race reporting repertoire in Italy in June 2025. This week they are flying to LA to be the voice of the Slot.it Nationals from Electric Dreams for the third yer in a row.
They took time out from packing to have a chat about how they came to find themselves as the voice of slot car racing.

RevoSlot models are unarguably a good thing, but if they always come in threes is that a problem? Great when it is a new mould, but down the line does anyone want three fantasy liveries, do shops want to risk being stuck with stock?
In a transatlantic, multi-time zone chat (it was past 1.00am in the UK, twilight in the US) Scott is joined by Mr Slot Car News himself, Dave Kennedy, to talk utter slot. Grab yourself a cold one and listen in.

Nick's back! We learn what he's been up to and what his latest slot car build is and how it faired in its first club race.
Scott has finally restored an overgrown Fly Porsche 911 and he's playing with himself again (Group C this time).

Back by popular demand... well a few kind folk* at UK Slot Festival asked if I was doing any more - with special guest appearance by Pedro.
There's talk of what caught our eye at the Slotfest, including the marvelously accessible Scalextric stand where Scott was caught on camera fondling Captain Scarlet's SPV, the slot.it BMW M3 prototype which Pedro insists he didn't break and the controversial, at least for the rivet counters, MRSlotcar classics.
Nick's away on his new job: more on that in future episodes. He'll be back soon.
*Sorry, I'm useless at remembering names.

We get so excited by news of the new Skoda by Scaleauto we give credit to AvantSlot. What can we say, we're old and no one promised accuracy. Sorry Ivan.
In other news, Fly are testing the limits of collecting madness by selling a car with no tyres, Nick is very excited by the possibilities of Scalextric's surprise new wheel hubs and Scott would rather have a slice of Sloter cheese than the new NSR Lola.

Season Two? A continuation model? Sadly inevitable?.
However you look at it, the return of (possibly) the world's favourite slot car podcast is reason to give thanks to the Gods of Slot.
What have we been doing? Why Is Nick half the man he was? Has Scott managed to resist buying EVERY Renault 5 Turbos Fly release?
There's only one way to find out - listen!
It's good to be back.

Harry Potter and a new Top 10: what more can you ask of a slot car podcast?
More: well, there's also talk of new tyres for old Carreras and the new slot.it Audi R8 in retro rally livery has ticked all of Scott's boxes.

Can a 70s Scalextric Ferrari on new tyres really keep up with a Policar F1? Was the mid-90s Ferrari F40 GT a mass hallucination?
Plus, Nick buys his first Policar (no, really) and Scott learns the hard way about racing digital with weather effects activated.
All this plus the latest Top 10 selling slot cars from Pendle Slot Racing.
